Lederer.

The name to look out for when you are choosing a partner for fasteners and fastening technology. And when not only quality and service, but also reliability and added value in business relationships are important for you.

Lederer‘s railway engineering product spectrum provides all the elements that are required in secure assembly and long-term deployment for track and overhead contact line construction, bogies, superstructures and rail automation.

The name Lederer stands for over 40 years‘ experience andcontinuous development on the fasteners market.

All articles with relevance for fastening technology can be supplied within the company‘s overall programme. These comprise not only those parts which are normed in accordance with DIN and ISO, but also non-normed fasteners, special parts manufactured in accordance with prototypes and drawings, and non-assortment articles.

Dynamic: the company.

Lederer can supply articles in all the relevant materials: normed, standardized and special parts from the entire steel and non-ferrous metals spectrum in all strength categories and with all coatings.

It goes without saying for Lederer that not only does the com-pany test the quality of the products; it also clearly defines the quality of its services.

Quality management has been an established part of Lederer‘s corporate philosophy since 1993. Certification in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 (formerly 9002) guarantees a high stan-dard of accuracy throughout all of its business segments.

This means that more than 98% of all orders received by the company can be delivered right away and that transparency of all work processes is guaranteed for every employee.

These employees, incidentally, are (after you, the customers) the most important capital the company possesses: outstanding expertise, continuous ongoing training and a highly-developed customer orientation are the trademarks of the entire Lederer team.

The quality awareness that results from all this forms the basis of our lasting and successful dialogue with our partners on the market. Not for nothing do renowned major companies regularly rate Lederer as an „A“-grade supplier.

Last but by no means least, the introduction of environmental management in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001, occupational safety management in accordance with BS OHSAS 18001, and the orientation of the Lederer management systems towards the requirements stipulated by the international railway standard IRIS speak for themselves and advance us further along the path we have embarked upon.

The spectrum offered by Lederer includes much more than just trading with fasteners. The company also offers many services on request. These often enable customers to avoid costly and elaborate special designs or labour- and cost-intensive work processes.

On the following pages we show you what else Lederer can do for you – our broad spectrum encompasses mechanicalprocessing, coating, bolt and screw locking, and finallymeticulous quality assurance.

L-Precision.

In many application areas, maximum precision is indispensable. In the production of electronic and fine-mechanical components, for example, preference is given to totally burr- and chip-free articles. As this state cannot always be guaranteed by the usual production and control processes, Lederer offers the alternative option of the most stringent quality assurance possible. Articles with L-Precisionare subjected to a 100% control procedure; every part in a delivery, without exception, is examined and any foreign material present is removed.

Offering added value.

The thingsyou need.

Processing and treatment.

The number of possible application situations for fasteners is so great that not all fastening problems can be solved using normed and standardized parts. They often require special individual solutions tailored to the intended purpose in each case. These must not always be individually-manufactured special and/or designed components, however; making subsequent alterations to tried-and-tested assortment articles will often suffice.

Service: Cutting down to special lengths Thread cutting (also fine and left hand thread) Cranking of dog point and groove (DIN 561) Cranking of cone point and groove (DIN 564) Slotting Shank relieving (DIN 7964) Cranking of cup point Drilling of splits – pin holes Drilling of head holes Polishing

Subsequent coating or treatment of the material surfaces can also be necessary for a wide variety of reasons: for easier machining, to improve the surfaces‘ protection against corrosion, for screw/bolt locking or simply to enhance the surfaces‘ appearance. In this area, too, Lederer collaborates with specialists who satisfy all customer requirements with precision. Optimizing purchase management.

In times of rapid changes and evolving markets, only those who adapt to changed needs, optimize workflows and processes, and make sensible use of unused capacities will survive. Although these efforts have so far mostly extended to optimizations ofA- and B-parts, C-parts have now moved increasingly to the centre of market attention.

Untapped potential for increasing efficiency and reducing costshas, until now, been exploited through the application of C-parts management. Taking your specific requirements into account, we develop a professional, made-to-measure conceptionfor your individual C-parts management.

Advantages:

•Reductioninprocesscosts of up to 50%

•Productadjustment by means of analysis and comparison

•Lowercapitalcommitment thanks to reduction in stocks

•Permanentavailability and demand-driven delivery

•Process-optimizedlogistics and individual solutions

•Consistentlyhighquality and QA agreements

Reducing costs.

C-parts such as screws, bolts, nuts and other fasteners are in-dispensable for the production process despite being such small components of it. Although they account for only a small pro-portion of the costs in the product as a whole, this cost-benefit ratio can often be improved substantially.

Intelligent C-parts management helps to reduce the expenditure on C-parts procurement: in cooperation with Lederer you will reduce your process costs by 20–50%.

An analysis of your C-parts needs can often prevent article duplication or expensive special solutions and have these repla-ced by normed or standardized parts. An examination of your workflows in warehousing and production, too, often opens up potential for optimizations and savings.

Increasing flexibility.

As your strategic partner, Lederer not only ensures that all the C-parts you need will be delivered to you. If requested, we also perform upstream and downstream tasks and ease the burden on you and your employees. This often releases capacities that were previously tied into secondary or marginal processes – innovative and productive forces that you can deploy far more usefully elsewhere to maximise returns or put new ideas into practice.

In rendering these services, we manage more than just fasteners made from stainless steel: articles made from regular steel and special materials, non-ferrous metals and synthetics are included as a matter of course in the C-parts spectrum, as arenon-assortment products such as electrical items and screw connections.

Lederer performs the following tasks for you:

Making use of progress.

In an age of ever-faster information, accelerated processes andshorter response times, only those who are open and receptiveto these developments will survive. In the same way that theletter, telephone, telex, fax and finally e-mail mediacomplemented and/or replaced each other in the communication between customers and suppliers, the processes for exchanging business and process data is also developing continuously.

are not just buzzwords for Lederer; they are everyday reality. Manycustomers–fromsmalltradingcompaniestolarge, globally active groups – are already relying on the flexibility and reliability of electronic data exchange with Lederer.

In this area Lederer is big enough to implement sophisticated and comprehensive solutions, e.g. on neutral marketplaces such as cc-hubwoo or in proprietary corporate solutions such asclick2procure.At the same time, Lederer is also still small enough to respond flexibly to market requirements and put customers‘ wishes into practice quickly and unbureaucratically.Today, theprovisionofarticleandpricedatainBMEcatandsimilar structures is as much a part of the everyday routine as linking up to the customer‘s ERP system by means of EDI or regular price maintenance via xls, csv and other data formats.

We do what we can.

From us you‘ll get everything – or nothing.

Everything if you require fasteners, any or all the workflows associated with them and the advisory role that this involves.

Because we can do that.

Nothing if your concerns involve other areas of railway engineering. In this field we have no vendor‘s tray to offer. Specific components are the responsibility of other experts.

And you can do that.

And we make short work of it.

Telephone, fax and e-mail accelerate the workflows and ensure faster handling and shorter reaction times. Lederer takes account of this trend and is at the disposal of existing and potential customers on all channels of communication.

Lederer‘s experts in the field of fasteners for railway engineering are at your disposal for discussion, advice and performance. If you need further information, have any queries or would like to make concrete inquiries, please contact:

Irrespective of whether „only“ some technical information is required, an inquiry is to be placed or a complex stock order submitted, Lederer is at your disposal around the clock 365 days a year.

Thanks to the online link-up with the Lederer warehouse, all the data displayed are up-to-the-minute at the moment the inquiry is made. Inquiries (unregistered users) and orders (registered users) reach the competent sales employee at the same moment.

Lederer-Tracking.comLederer-Tracking is the convenient online tool linked directly to

the merchandise management system so that article, consumption

and dispatch data can be requested just in time.

· Where is my merchandise?

· What delivery date was confirmed?
