When I feel afraid, think I've lost my way, still You're there right beside me. And nothing will I fear as long as You are near. Please be near me to the end. Fear not, I am with thee, O be not dismayed, for I am thy God, I will still give thee aid. I'll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand, upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand. I will not forget Your love for me and yet my heart forever is wandering. Jesus, be my guide, and hold me to Your side; and I will love You to the end. Prayers Kaitlyn Plukas

Forgiving God, help us to recognize that we are all a part of your loving family.

Together we prayerfully ask for your guidance and seek your wisdom.

Allow us to provide aid to those who are victims of violence that they may know peace,

Lord, together we are all part of your family.

Bring joy to those who are struggling with tough situations,

Lord, together we are all part of your family.

We ask that our country and elected officials be led toward common ground,

Lord, together we are all part of your family.

We are thankful for the laughter and friendship that we share,

Lord, together we are all part of your family.

We are thankful for our lives and our families who unconditionally support and guide

us in your direction.

Lord, together we are all part of your family.

Fill us with your love that we may share it with the whole human family, we pray in

Jesus’ name the prayer that he taught us saying,

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. January 27, 2013

This Spring our 7th and 8th graders will be participating in our

Confirmation class, called Credo, which means ‘I believe’ in Latin.

Credo Confirmation is a chance to explore what it truly means

to be a Christian, a United Methodist, and a Child of God. It is a

ten-week course, including a retreat, beginning February 24 and

continuing through Confirmation worship on June 2. We will cover

a bunch of topics to prepare our Confirmands to be confirmed and

they will have the opportunity to join the church. Topics include: The

Bible, Prayer, Worship, Sacraments, History, Ethics, Creeds, United

Methodist History, and more!

For some of the Confirmands, who were baptized as a baby, this will be their chance to lay claim

to their identity for themselves. For others this might be the opportunity to be baptized and claim

the identity as a follower of Christ.

Part of the Confirmation experience includes a mentor, called a ‘friend in faith,’ who is a member

of our church community. The role of the mentor is to communicate with the Confirmands, at first

through anonymous letters, finally revealing their identity at the Credo Confirmation Banquet in

June. Anyone interested in participating in this important role, please contact me via email at

[email protected], or call the church office.

Also, if you know a 7th or 8th Grader interested in joining the class, please contact me.

I invite you all to be in prayer for our class during this time of exploration and learning!

Rev. Robert English Pennies for Haiti – Today!

Today during Coffee Fellowship, the Haiti work team will be collecting contributions of any size in a ‘Pennies for Haiti’ fundraiser. Bring loose

change, dollar bills or donations of any amount, because every contribution matters. Thank you all

for your support, prayers and contributions.
