NEW MODEL TYPES

• Lookup – to import and explore any tabular data (*.csv)

Use case: Build a fit on a measurements dataset

• HyperStudy Fit – to import a Fit (*.pyfit report file)

Use case: Share fit models between different studies and users

ex. Perform multi domain exploration

• FluxMotor – to connect to FluxMotor motor design tool

Use case: Optimize a motor at the predesign stage

(ex. optimize the motor efficiency over WLTP driving cycle)

MODEL IMPROVEMENTS

• SimLab model has been improved in 2017.2.2

• To parametrically drive SimLab macros (.js), which can be used to automatically mesh

and solve FEA problems (ex. OptiStruct)

• To automatically detect and import parameters and responses

• Fit Automatically Selected by Training (FAST)

• selects the best available Fit from a list of available methods

• In Settings tab you can review or modify the available methods

(by default all of the methods are selected)

• automatically adjusts the individual settings to find the

optimizing, predictive performance while avoiding overfitting

• uses the cross-validation R2 for Fit quality comparison

between methods

• System Reliability Optimization (SRO) method

• Considering system reliability requirements rather

than individual constraints

whether the lines point in the same or opposite directions)

• The relative length of the lines also indicates a strong correlation

• New Bubbles tab in Scatter and Optima tabs

• Visualization of 3rd and 4th dimension on scatter

• Very important in Multi-objective optimization with more than 2 objectives

• Summary table with the main information

• Fit type and settings

• R-Square

• Spark lines and color coding to read R-Square values:

• Red (R2 < 0.65) - indicates the value is not good

• Green (0.8 < R2 < 0.995) - indicates the value is good

• Black - indicates that you should apply judgment

to determine whether the value is good or not

• Detailed diagnostics still available for each

response


SIMPLER OPTIMIZATION DEFINITION

• New Responses table

• Summary view of all responses

• Define, modify and review Objectives and Constraints for all responses

• Disable Active check boxes for responses, which are not used in the optimization

• Change the evaluation source (solver or fit) for responses individually or for all

responses together using the Evaluate from Fit Model feature
