Day 1&2: USA - CannesWe begin our French Riviera discovery today with our flight to Cannes, France. Sit back, relax and enjoy all the in-flight amenities. Arrive in Cannes today, where we will be met at the airport and transferred to our hotel; home for the next 6 nights. There will be time to relax before joining our Discovery Program Guide tonight for a welcome cocktail. (In-flight meals)Day 3: Cannes - Antibes - Sophia AntipolisOur morning begins with a city tour of Cannes. “Discovered” by Lord Brougham in 1834, Cannes soon became a community for the international elite and is synonymous with the International Film Festival. We will see the Palais des Festivals with

its lovely harbor and La Croisiette, perhaps one of the most elegant seaside promenades in the world. The old town - Le Suquet-, is still a delicious maze of medieval streets and Renaissance houses. We continue onward to Antibes, nestled in the beautiful Cote d’ Azur. Antibes was founded as a 5th century BC Greek colony settled by Phocaeans and also known as the longtime home of Picasso. Antibes was also home to Napoléon Bonaparte and his family until his imprisonment after the fall of Robespierre. Later, we venture to the world internet headquarters Sophia Antipolis. This world renowned technology park known as an “international city of wisdom, science and technology” is the hub of the telecom industry and hosts W3C, along with cutting edge electronics and biotechnology companies. (B)Day 4: Grasse Excursion/ St. Paul de VenceThis morning we make our way to Grasse to learn about the perfume industry. Grasse is the center of the French perfume industry and is known as the world’s perfume capital. The world’s finest “noses” reside here. A “nose” is the correct

name for a person highly trained in the art of perfumery in Grasse. These “noses”can identify and classify hundreds of fragrances, subtly blended together in a harmonious combination, while fine perfumes can contain more than 100 ingredients. Grasse produces over two-thirds of France’s natural aromas for perfume and for food flavorings. This afternoon, take an optional tour to St. Paul-de-Vence. The picture-book medieval village of St. Paul-de-Vence stands hidden behind its ramparts and is “Provence in a nutshell”. St. Paul-de-Vence was rediscovered only in the 1920’s by a group of painters. The painter Chagall lived here and is entombed here. Take advantage of shopping or just relax in the soothing Mediterranean breezes. (B)Day 5: Day at leisureToday is at leisure for you to explore Cannes on your own. Galas, regattas, the Film Festival and an outrageously attractive and affluent set characterize Cannes. Vast yachts obscure the view and the town lives up to its motto, “Life is a festival.” People-watching is the activity that brings most visitors to Cannes, and hotel-lined La Croisette provides a

fine promenade. First popularized by Coco Chanel, Cannes beaches are a huge draw. Get expensive seaside food and drinks service on hotel sand or opt for the free public beaches, Plages du Midi and de la Boca. (B) Day 6: Excursion to Monte Carlo- Villefrance - EzeToday take an excursion to Monaco today. Monaco is an independent principality about half the size of New York City’s Central Park; with a population of 27,000. Monte Carlo is the site of the well-known casino and a glittering center of international social life. All of Monaco is contained within an area of less than 1 square mile. Our city tour will include the 19th-century Romanesque Cathedral, famous for the sight of Princess Grace’s tomb. Next, we travel to Villefrance. There’s quite a medieval feeling in Villefrance. This city’s long and rich history as a major sea port is visible
