Q1. Please tell us something about yourself?

Ans. I am Col ® Waheed Khan and I have been the Project Secretary of DHA Multan from

the past couple of years.

I was born in Sargodha at a time when there were no private education institutions like today, hence I went to a government school and college. In October 1988, at a very young age of 19, I joined the Pakistan Army in one of the oldest and decorated infantry units in the Punjab Regiment. As a young o�cer, like anyone, I was also very passionate and outgoing. While on postings, I got a chance to experience the beauty of Pakistan; from the Sleeping Beauty of Quetta, to the K-2 base camp in Gilgit Baltistan, to the mesmerizing sceneries of Pearl, Neelam and Leepa Valleys in Azad Kashmir to the great Khyber Pass, I felt the hot sun of Cholistan on my skin and enjoyed the

chilly nights of Tharparker.

Apart from my essential military qualifications, I did my MBA in HRM and MA in Political Science during the service. To be honest, I would love to be a school teacher in my

second life.

Q2. How do you maintain work / life balance?

Ans. It’s very di�cult to maintain balance between the two and not possible without the

support from the family. I am very fortunate to have a supportive family due to which I am able to keep my work life separate from my personal life.

Q3. What are your three biggest accomplishments?

Ans. Having served my nation would definitely top the list. I’ve also had the honour of commanding an infantry unit in the combat zone for two years and have seen life and

death very closely. Having seen so much in life, I think I’m in a very good place today here at DHA Multan. It’s a new chapter

that I wish to see and explore further.

Q4. What is your philosophy towards your work?

Ans. Briefly, I would sum it up as, “Hard work always pays o�”. I try to listen to the people and their problems, address them from every possible angle and come up with solutions that are

e�ective and quick.

Q5. How do you define success and how do you measure up to your own definition?

Ans. To me, success is something you achieve through strong leadership and team play. Only a good leader can build good teams to produce good results and every organization should focus on nurturing and developing their

fresh blood to grow as great leaders.

Q6. What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?

Ans. I’d say that my greatest strength would have to be the patience that I’ve learnt over many years of service. You can only move forward and plan for the future if you’re calm enough to

take sane decisions in di�cult situations. My weakness is that I am a perfectionist. I think

this characteristic sets you back in a lot of things even if they are simple ones.

Q7. Do you believe in saving the environment? If yes, how are you practicing it in DHA Multan?

Ans. Environment protection is our future. It’s the only thing we all need to focus on. DHA Multan

in collaboration with Pakistan Army’s initiative of ‘Sarsabaz–o-Shadab Pakistan’ has launched a massive plantation drive.

Inshallah soon, people of Multan will get to see its green e�ects.

Q8. DHA Multan has been quite a successful project. What would you like to say about that?

Ans. DHA Multan is a gift for the people of Southern Punjab. It has brushed away the perception of an outdated old city by giving its people a newer, cleaner and greener living concept. I believe DHA Multan is adding beauty and

serenity to the Blessed City of Saints.

Q9. How do you and your team deal with new challenges?

Ans. DHA is already an established brand name in the real estate market. Our leadership strongly believes in quality, reliability and trust, and our team is always busy taking up new challenges and achieving the desired goal in accordance

with these fine characteristics.

Q10. Where do you see DHA Multan in the next five years? Ans. I see DHA Multan as a blissful living society,

taking the blessed City of Multan to greater heights. I hope to see DHA Multan as the most sought after destination in Southern Punjab in the near future Inshallah where people will

come to find their desired lifestyle.

Q11. When will the project be liveable?

Ans. We are just an arm’s length away from delivering the liveability date. With new living and investment opportunities ready to be showcased with this initiative, our first batch of villas is near completion and functional SICAS Kids Kampus and recent Groundbreaking of Bilal Masjid showcases our restless e�orts in

making DHA Multan liveable.

Q12. What was the main motivation behind inducting an international golf player / designer, Sir Nick Faldo to design the golf

course in DHA Multan? Ans. Construction of an international standard 18

Hole Signature Championship Golf Course by the legendary golfer Sir Nick Faldo coupled with his international standard coaching

academy is a giant leap towards introducing Pakistan on the World golfing map and we look forward to share ‘Rumanza’ with everyone.

Q13. What is the main objective in establishing a cricket academy in DHA Multan?

Ans. Cricket is more of a passion than just a sport for the people of Pakistan. Wasim Akram Cricket Academy in DHA Multan will serve to be a great opportunity for the youngsters in Southern Punjab to represent Pakistan in the

national team.

Q14. Please let us know about the educational facilities planned for DHA Multan?

Ans. DHA Multan is planning to have its own education city that is much needed in the region. SICAS Kids Kampus with its purpose built smart campus will be commencing its first academic session from August/September 2019. Also, a su�cient amount of land has been earmarked for Foundation University Campus. Similarly, the request from NUML

University Campus is also under process.

Q15. In your point of view, what makes DHA Multan stand out from other housing projects of our

country?

Ans. DHA is in continuous competition with itself. It always strives to achieve the next level of developmental standards. I think DHA’s strict adherence to the by-laws and its reliability with consistency makes DHA unique and sets it

apart from all its other competitors.

Signature Championship Golf Course “Rumanza” hosted by the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Multan on November 22, 2018.This golf course designed by the golf legend Sir Nick Faldo will be complemented by a golf academy and facilities for practicing golf. It will also boast a pro shop and a prestigious club house. This 18-hole golf course will be managed and operated by Troon Golf, the world’s largest golf course management and operations company. It is expected to be completed in two years time, bringing Pakistan on the map of the world of golf by hosting international championship events.This event has been described as a milestone in Pakistan’s sports history. This 18-hole golf course will be part of a prestigious golf community project which will include high-end luxury villas and apartments besides other hospitality and commercial facilities.

Designed on international standards, the inauguration of Pakistan’s first 18-hole Signature Championship Golf Course Rumanza was a prestigious event for DHA Multan. The vision for Rumanza is to make it the standard bearer of golfing activities in Pakistan as it will bring Pakistan on the golfing world’s map by hosting international events. This event has been described as a milestone in Pakistan’ssporting history.

Marking the first venture into Pakistan‘s golfing spectrum by celebrated golfer Sir Nick Faldos’ Faldo Designs, it is set to be one of the most ambitious golfing projects. During its construction phase, environment friendly measures will also be considered. Medical Camp was organized for diagnosis and eradication of Hepatitis B and C in employees along with vaccinating them against Swine Flu on 27 November 2018. International Seminar on “Sustainable Urban Development - A Clean and Green Living’’ was organized in collaboration with Bahauddin Zakaria University, Multan on 25 February 2019. 12 National & International speakers shared their knowledge about the concept, issues and solutions of modern-day urban planning and eco-friendly cities. Project Director Brig Muhammad Nadeem Aslam, SI(M) addressed the occasion and emphasized that in line with the aesthetic vision, various initiatives are also being taken by DHA Multan for Clean and Green living such as eco-friendly designs and structure, development of the Mother Nursery, plantation and landscaping of each road, street, park and sector. Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Akbar Anjum PVC from BZU graced the occasion and appreciated DHA Multan's initiative on Clean & Green living concept. Shield andcertificates were distributed among civil society, industry, media personnel, students and other notables.

DHA Multan believes in a greener and cleaner living style. Multiple activities have been carried out taking this tremendous initiative forward.

Horticulture Department has planned to plant more than ten thousand trees per sector totalling it to around two hundred and fifty thousand trees in DHA Multan.

DHA Nursery has been established with a capacity of 1.8 Million saplings on 50 acres in partnership with Desert Group UAE to materialize the vision of Green DHA Multan.

As per the symbolic representation of Multan, 5 acres within Mother Nursery has been allocated for Mango propagation facility.

A white marble exterior gives it a minimalistic look while an impressive white minaret rises 120 feet high in the sky.The groundbreaking ceremony for Bilal Masjid took place on 26 June 2019 and the plaque unveiling was carried out by Commander 2 Corps (Multan), Lt Gen Muhammad Naeem Ashraf, HI(M) and Project Director Brig Muhammad Nadeem Aslam, SI(M).Speaking on the occasion, Lt Gen Muhammad Naeem Ashraf, HI(M) highlighted the importance of DHA Multan for the prosperity of the city. He stressed on the importance of establishing DHA Multan as an easily accessible housing society by ensuring swift connectivity to the main thoroughfares of Ring Road, Motorwayas well as Multan Airport.In his address on the occasion of the Groundbreaking ceremony of Bilal Masjid, Project Director DHA Multan, Brig Muhammad Nadeem Aslam, SI(M), spoke about the progress DHA Multan has made in terms of development and investment and also reflected on the upcoming development projects, that willsoon be undertaken.

In our e�ort to ensure that SICAS Kids Kampus DHA Multan provides the highest quality programmes in our Summer Kamp, starting on 1 July 2019, SICAS Kamp Director, a UK national expert, Ms. Sanaa Sabet, has run several training sessions for our teachers using the latest educational methodologies to train them on how to bring out the best in our students and give them a wonderful experience learning and having fun while taking part in our Kamp programme. The intensive study course will allow your children to continue improving their language skills, while at the same time developing their imagination and creativity. In keeping up with the times, our STEM, coding and introduction to computer programmes will encourage your children to use technology in a proper manner and give them an idea about the rapid changes in technological advances. Swimming, karate classes & other sports are being o�ered throughout the four weeks, because we believe that a healthy body has a healthy

mind. Creativity isn’t forgotten in our arts and crafts, little chef and music lessons. Finally, as summer is a time for family fun, the SICAS Kamp Manager is also organising many fun activities for all the family to ensure that our Summer Kamp is so amazing, everyone will remember the fun until the next year!

In an e�ort to make life easier for parents, especially working parents, the o�ces of SICAS Kids Kampus, DHA Multan will be open on Saturdays until the start of the Summer Kamp on 1 July 2019. Ms. Anum Ashiq, an advocate of peace, justice and excellence, has been a constant support for her family after the sad demise of her father in 2015. She also became the sole bread earner when her brother met a dire accident in 2016. Her determination to excel has made her the star of this edition’s “Get to Know DHA Team”. Ms. Anum was born on 29 November, in Multan and is the second eldest among six siblings. She received her early education from Dominican Primary School and Govt. Girls High School, and graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Arts. Her passion to grow and prosper helped her climb up the corporate ladder at DHA Multan, where she joined as a lady warden in 2015 and was later promoted to Assistant Customer Services Representative. She loves singing and reading novels. Ms. Anum is a an integral part of DHA Multan’s team.

Lt Gen Shafqaat Ahmed, HI(M) visited DHA Multan on 17 January 2012 and expressed delight to see the nucleus of DHA Multan shaping up well to its ultimate evolution. He praised the e�cient team, who helped lay a very solid foundation for the future. A comprehensive strategy regarding the location of DHA Multan andacquisition of land were finalized.Multan was expanding in all directions, however keeping in view the physical and social infrastructure, better transport linkages and easier accessibility, an ideal location spread over 9,000 acres was selected.
