Ask for small paint

samples and paint squares

of each color on your wall; live

with it and watch the way the

light hits it at different times of

Use painters tape to protectmolding, trim and xtures.

Taking the time to tape will

save you time in the long run

and give you a professional

looking nish.

Invest in the right paint,

brushes and rollers. Higher-

quality paint goes on with a

smoother, deeper nish.

Cheap rollers have lint that

will stay behind on your wall;

youll see the ecks in the

dried paint. Brushes that

have any dried paint in them

should be discarded and

replaced with new ones that

wont streak your paint.

Cover your oor and furniture

with drop cloth; old sheets do

the trick nicely.

Taking a break? You dont

have to wash your brush or

rollers between work times.

Simply cover your brush and

rollers in plastic bags and

wrap it around them to limitthe air that gets into the bag.

It will keep them moist with

paint and ready to use when

youre back to work.
