How did you use new media technologies in the research,

construction, planning and evaluation stages for music video?

For the research stage of our music video we used different forms of media to collect our information, such as :

YouTube- We used this to watch other music video’s and analyse what forms and conventions they use and howwe can use them for our music video.

We used the internet and Google to find out different music songs that we could use for our music video. Websites like unsigned.com

We also used a Canon MD 10 hd Camera to film are vox pops and used final cut express to edit it and titles to find out what type of music video people like to help us when crediting our music, video.

We also used wall wisher to find out what people though of the song we pick and what the actor and actress should where and where it should been filmed.

We used the IMac to research music videos and songs to pick the song we was going to use for are video.

We used websites like: www.google.co.uk

www.youtube.co.uk

www.onetruemedia.com.

We used this to research into artist and to write it up on my blog using www.blogger.co.uk

We also used you tube when researching music video and up loading are preliminary task/and our music video then we then transferred it onto our blogs. We also used you tube to analyse music video from past students work and we learnt a lot about what song to do and what not to do. This is what we put our music video onto so other people can see and see if they liked it and by doing this we changed it and made it better as I've shown in the next slide.

For the planning stage of my music video we had to research into the artist we was going to do, and what songs we were going to use , for the video. We used YouTube, Google, unsigned.com, we also used different forms to do risk assessments and plan the music video and how we would create other elements of the video.

This is one of the forms we had to do during the planning stage of the music video to find out what problems we might encounter and , how we would fi them or prevent them, from happening.

For the planning stage of music video we had to use a story board to create our animatic using YouTube so we would no the different stages of the video and what the music video, would be about. Below is the story board stages and image of the YouTube animatic which we used to upload it onto after editing it and adding titles on to it from final cut express.

We also had do create a treatment which we used Prezi to do which is a presentation site which shows the step by step method of what costumes we will use , where the setting will be and what actors we will use. Below are just some of the images from my treatment.

Another form of planning we had to use is a contingency plan and we used blogger to upload our contingency plan on to.

When we was filming our music video we used a Canon HDV 1080 camera and a tripod to capture all the filming that we done on different days. We had our own tape so we could keep all the filming on.

We used final cut express to add lyrics, add dissolves, and titles to create are music video, here is the editing of video and the video itself are it was finished.

For the construction on the video we used Bluetooth and our mobile phone to upload images that we took for locations so we could use them when trying to create the music video and have an idea of what it would look like. We also used phones and Bluetooth to send photos.

To construct our digi-pak and magazine advert we used, Photoshop and pic monkey. We edited the contrast, font and colour of both products to create the country/modern look we was going for to combine with the music video.

We used wall wisher as a new technology which we was told about this year, to find out audience feedback instead of using survey monkey like last year. Wall wisher let us right the questions we wanted to ask which were:

Do you like the song? 3 words you associate with song? What colour do you associate with the

song? What do you think the song is about? Describe the person you think is singing

the song? What scene/location would you expect to

see if you are watching the music video of this song?

We got different feed back about the song and what the actor and actress should be wearing and where the music video should be, set and what colours should be used.

Final we used YouTube to upload our music video on the internet and we then embedded it on our blogs.

For my evaluation I had to use a verity of, different media technology such as,

Prezi PowerPoint/ slide share Glogster Popplet Word

I also had to use blogger to upload my evaluation on and all my post throughout the year about my music video project.

For my evaluation I used Prezi for question 3 to show the step by step process of how we got the right ideas for the video and target audience we should aim the video at. It also shows all the ways in which we got audience feedback, and how we listened to what they said to create the finished, product. Prezi is a new way to create presentation, of all the different stages of planning my music video and research for it to create the end product.

I used power point to show all, the different technologies I used when created evaluation, research, planning and construction for the music video. I then embedded it in to slide share which is a PowerPoint presentation side where you can upload presentations.

Blogger was the website which we used to post everything that we have learnt in research, planning, construction and evaluation. I used Blogger as a diary and wrote all the things we done to show what I've learned. Every time we learnt something new we had to update it on to our blogs to show the exam the process of contraction our thriller, to improve on our grades wadded photos, films etc. to show different types of technology. We also analysed video, music, lyrics, mise en scene, characters, setting and the audience to and wrote this on our blogs to make it more interesting. This is a screen grab of Glogster which is a new media technology that we learned about this year, when constructing our music video, I used this to show how we challenge, conformed and developed the music video with existing music video.

A new piece of technology that I used as part of my evaluation was Popplet, this is where I create a spider diagram of how my music video, magazine advert and digi-pak all like together.

That is all of the media technology’s I have been taught how to use over this year of the course and I have gained new skills from using them.
