香港理工大學經常勉勵同學要成為「講求實效的夢想家」，腳踏實

地把不凡的意念付諸實踐，進而造福社群。為此，同學除了需要具備專

業知識和技能，更要有國際視野和服務社會的心志。

理大透過「服務學習」學分課程，使同學善用所學，服務弱勢社

群，並藉此擴闊視野，增廣見聞。為了實現服務學習的目標，大學經常

舉辦各種活動，紡織及製衣學系轄下的「綾緻康健服裝中心」二零零九

年推出的「展才設計」，正是其中的一項，這個每年一度的活動，充分

展現理大培育學生成為富社會責任感公民的承諾。

「展才設計」今年已是第七屆，110 多位不同學系的同學熱心參與活

動，協助 300 多位長者及殘障參加者設計及縫製衣服送給摯愛。理大學

生與參加者的合作，雙方均有得着——長者及殘障人士有機會展現他們

服裝設計的才華；理大同學則學以致用，更為社會做了一件溫暖人心的

事情。

我衷心感謝參與活動的理大師生及社會服務機構。他們協力同心，

讓「展才設計」得以圓滿成功。我深信這饒具意義的活動，將為各位帶

來美好的回憶。

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) encourages students to become “practical dreamers” who can turn their splendid ideas into reality to do good for society. To this end, students need to equip themselves with not only professional knowledge and skills, but also an international mindset and a serving heart.

Through credit-bearing Service-Learning subjects, PolyU provides students with the opportunities to apply their knowledge to serve people in need, consequently broadening their own horizons. The Youreable Fashion Design, launched by the Troels H. Povlsen Care Apparel Centre under the Institute of Textiles and Clothing in 2009, is one of the many initiatives of the University serving this purpose. This annual event well demonstrates PolyU’s commitment to nurturing socially responsible citizens.

Over 110 PolyU students from various disciplines have joined the Youreable Fashion Design in its seventh year to assist more than 300 aged or disabled participants in creating outfits for their loved ones. Both our students and the participants benefit from this collaborative project. On the one hand, the elderly and the disadvantaged have the chance to realise their talents in fashion design. On the other, the students apply what they have learned in the classroom to something useful and heartwarming they can contribute to the community.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all PolyU colleagues involved in the project as well as our social service organization partners for their laudable efforts in staging this meaningful event. I have no doubt it will once more be a great success and will leave us with many joyful memories.

曾經考慮過展才設計應該是每年或隔年舉行較為適合。但連續舉辦

了七屆展才設計，每年參加設計的傷健人士都約三百多人，而參與的理

大同學亦過百人，使我們相信展才設計還是應該每年舉辦的。

我更樂見設計題材亦更趨多元化。除了一般以衣服向身邊摯愛親友

表達謝意或愛意，很多參加者的設計都含有特別意思，更有參加者藉著

衣服設計勸勉家人遠離賭博，鼓勵健康飲食，提倡環保概念等等。希望

大家在欣賞美麗設計之餘，可以感受設計者的心思和創意，及同學們背

後付出的努力。

在此我衷心多謝所有合作機構及義務朋友多年來對「展才設計」的

支持。祈望這個給傷健人士發揮設計才能及給予學生服務學習的平台能

持續發展。

The consideration of organizing “Youreable Fashion Design” annually or biennially has crossed my mind. But after running the Youreable event for seven years, the number of disabled participant still maintain around three hundred per run, and there is over one hundred PolyU students joining this activity. This makes us believe the Youreable Fashion Design could be continued annually.

We are pleased to witness that the design idea is becoming more diversified. Other than for the purpose to express gratitude or love to their loved one, there are participants make use of their garment design for other special meaning, such as to remind family member to keep away from gambling, to encourage healthy diet, and to promote eco concept etc. It is our aim to arise the public concern on not only the beauty of the garment design, but also the thinking and creativity of the designer, and the efforts of the students as well.

May I take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to all participating organizations and volunteers for their continuous support to the “Youreable Fashion Design”. We wish this platform for the disabled to showcase their design talent and also for the service learning of PolyU students could be continued in the years ahead.

創作靈感和意念來源：我想將設計的衣服送給行政部的芬妮。衣服上有花花草草，有動物及美麗的圖案。每當芬妮小姐穿著這件衣服，她就會覺得她在擁抱大自然，而她最喜歡的事物都在她身邊。

Design Idea & Inspiration:I would like to design this outfit for Fanny who is working at the administration office of our manor. The garment is designed with flowers, grass, animals and beautiful motifs. Whenever Fanny wears this dress, she can feel the natural beauty and with all her favorite items around her. I hope she would like my dress.

很多人對殘疾人總是有負面的印象，並沒有試圖理解他

們內心的世界。我們在這門學科中學習到的都非常難

忘。從第一天我們與歐先生會面，談論他的日常生活，

並瞭解芬妮小姐和他們之間的關係。直到現在我們完成

了這一件作品，我們感到每一刻都十分有意義。歐先生

的善良則令我們感覺到無比溫暖。在這段日子裡，我們

感到自己不僅是學生義工，而是扮演天使把歐先生的愛

與感激傳送給芬妮小姐。

Many people always have negative impression on disabled people, and they do not attempt to understand their thinking and feelings. What we gained from this subject is memorable in our life. From the first day we met Mr. Au, he talked about his daily living and told us about his relationship with Fanny. Until the day we completed the garment, we found every single minutes spent for this project is very meaningful to us. The kindness of Mr. Au gives us a very warm feeling. We feel we are not only the student helpers in making the outfit. We act as the angel who helps Mr. Au to deliver his love and gratitude to Ms. Fanny.

創作靈感和意念來源：我的設計概念是日本和服風格的婚紗，運用傳統和服的元素配合現今禮服的剪裁，有著傳統與未來結合的意思。這份作品是紀念我人生踏入新階段，今年我放棄全職工作，重返校園，學習不同與創作有關的新知識，開拓了新視野，並確立了我畢業後的夢想，就是成為日本動漫插畫師。我之所以要設計婚紗，是取當中「承諾」的意思，為自己夢想許下諾言。而和服部分當中的花是山茶花，有理想及謙讓的象徵，表示要實現夢想，要抱著謙虛的學習態度。

Design Idea & Inspiration:My design comes from the idea of Japanese Kimono wedding gown, and it combines the traditional and modern cutting techniques. This dress is the fusion of traditional and future concept and for the commemoration of the new stage of my life. I quit my full time job and back to school this year. I want to broaden perspectives and it is my dream to be a Japanese Anime Illustrator. I pick wedding gown as my design because of its meaning of “commitment to a dream”. The flower on the gown is camellia, which is a symbol of ideal and humility. It reminds me to keep humble and work hard if I wish to achieve my dream.

起初我們都是流於表面，抱著完成功課的心態參與課程。但經過一連串的活動，從探訪至為服務對象製作其

所設計的服裝，我們有了新的領悟，以及對課程有更深層次的體會。明白到其實我們在幫助別人的同時，自

己也能受惠。大家能夠互相學習，不論在組員之間，還是在我們與服務對象和導師之間。而在過程中，我們

都很慶幸大家相處得非常融洽，每當遇到困難時，組員都很積極和正面去應對，並且明白到溝通的重要性。

其中最深刻的經歷是車縫過程，皆因我們這套服裝比較複雜，而且有很多裁片，當發現裁片有底面不對的問

題，大家都沒有互相指責或推卸責任，而是一起積極討論解決辦法和尋求導師的幫助。能夠參與是次義工學

習課程是我們大學生涯中一次美好和難忘的體驗。

Most of team members only aim for the credits given by this service learning subject at the beginning, but after the participation of a series of activities organized by this subject, we found that we have a better understanding of the study objectives, and we have learnt a lot from our teammates, service recipient, and also from our tutors. We feel grateful to meet good friends from this course. All teammates have positive attitude in facing difficulties, and make us understand that communication is very important in solving problems and avoid misunderstanding. The most profound experience during the whole process is garment sewing. As there are many cut parts of the garment, we have wrongly mixed up the right side and wrong side of the fabric. All of us remain calm and no one attempt to escape the responsibility or blame other teammates. We finally find out the solution by seeking assistance from our tutor. This is a precious experience to engage in such meaningful subject in our college life.

創作靈感和意念來源：我想給孫女設計一款裙子。希望她像花朵一樣永遠年輕美麗，所以想以花為主題，設計一款夏天清爽的裙子給她。裙子以紗作主要材料，裙的下襬張開，像花朵綻放一樣。我的孫女活潑可愛，喜歡花，喜歡穿裙子，所以希望她喜歡我給她設計的衣服。

Design Idea & Inspiration:Mr. Chan wants to design a dress for his grand-daughter and wish her young and beautiful forever. His grand-daughter is energetic and lovely. She likes flower and also like wearing skirt. The summer dress designed by Mr. Chan is made of sheer gauze fabric, and he chose flower as the main theme of his design. The hem of the skirt is wide spread like a blooming flower.

我們這組同學雖然不是全都來自紡織學院，但這次活動

令我們能走到一起，與陳伯伯㩦手完成他的作品。由選

布、縫製到完成作品，我們都嘗試把伯伯的設計作基準，

給予最真實還原，希望能實現伯伯的心願。這是一個充

滿愛的作品，當中包含了伯伯對孫女的愛及「我們」整

個活動的回憶。特別借此感謝導師們、和其他職員的協

助和指導，令陳伯伯和我們的作品能得以順利完成。

Although not all members in our group are students from the Institute of the Textiles and Clothing, this service learning subject brings us together and lets us work with our service recipient Mr. Chan. During the process, we chose material and make the garment based on the requirements of Mr. Chan in order to make his dream garment come true. This dress contains not only the love of Mr. Chan to his granddaughter, but also our memories throughout the activity. Last but not the least, we want to express our gratitude to our teachers and the technical staff, without their guidance, our dress cannot be done successfully.

創作靈感和意念來源：婆婆選用了披肩為裝束的焦點是因為近來天氣轉涼。婆婆想借披肩帶出與丈夫的恩愛，故此披肩上印有二人相對的表情，中間亦有一顆心表達出白頭到老的意思。婆婆亦希望披肩可以適合較年輕的人穿著，故此加上不同顏色的花朵，代表青春。

Design Idea & Inspiration:Nanny Chan chooses shawl as her design due to the coming of cool weather. Nanny Chan would like to showcase her love with her husband through the design of the shawl. Therefore she came out a sentimental design which shows two lover’s faces facing each other at the front opening of the shawl. There is also a heart decoration which means their love will last ever and forever. In order to make the shawl also suitable for the young people, she added some colorful floral decorations on the shawl as well.

此次實在是一個難能可貴又值得紀念的機會讓我們可

以去服務大眾。這不是一般的服務，我們所做的不僅

僅是為婆婆製出她本人所設計的披肩，我們同時亦為

她在披肩上縫上了她的心聲。也許婆婆不比職業的服

裝設計師，但她在披肩上所表達的情感卻是比任何一

件我們所見過的服裝都還要強烈。亦因此我們在製作

過程中，也深深體會到婆婆的想法。希望婆婆會喜歡

這件衣服。

It is a very memorable opportunity for us to serve the community through this service learning subject. What we have done is to help our client to express her thought and sentiments through the garment she designed. Though our client is not a professional designer, the emotion expressed from her design is stronger than what we have ever seen from the professional designers. We have such feelings may due to the reason we are involved in the entire process of the garment making, thus we could share the feeling of Nanny Chan. We hope she would like the shawl we made for her.

創作靈感和意念來源：因一次外出展銷活動中，社工 Carson 專程買了雞蛋仔來探班，使我重拾雞蛋仔的滋味，同時心中感受到那份支持的心意及溫暖。每當我於山莊看到社工 Carson，也令我回憶起這份快樂的滋味，因此我想以「雞蛋仔」這香港的地道街頭小食為主題，再配合我最喜愛的粉藍色，創作這件獨特又有趣的衣服給社工 Carson，感謝他為我送上雞蛋仔的快樂滋味，亦希望他穿上這件衣服為更多的人傳遞快樂。這件衣服以「雞蛋仔」為主題，衣服的袋子是盛載雞蛋仔的紙袋。褲子上有立體雞蛋仔作裝飾。而帽子上的雞蛋仔鐵板是可以拆出來，拉開拉鏈後有雞蛋仔，讓他為大家送上這快樂的味道。

Design Idea & Inspiration:In an outdoor exhibition, Carson visited me with some egg puff. Other than the regain of the taste of egg puffs, my heart is filled with support and warmth at the same time.Since then, whenever I meet Carson at the manor, the joy of the egg puff is recalled from my memory. In order to thank Carson for bringing me egg puffs and happiness, I would like to use egg puffs as my theme, which is the Hong Kong authentic street snack, also with my favourite blue color to create the unique and interesting clothes for him. I hope he can share the joy and happiness to others.Since the clothes is related to egg puffs, pockets are designed like a bag for holding egg puffs. The pant is decorated with three-dimensional egg puffs. Moreover, the egg puffs on the cap that can be taken out, so Carson can share the egg puffs with audiences after opening the zipper of cap and he can send the message of happiness to everyone.

在是次比賽中，靜茹以雞蛋仔作為設計概念，為她的社

工設計了一件有趣的衣服。在製作初期，我們以為這件

衣服很簡單，但原來有不少細節，例如布料的顏色配搭

和質料，及每粒雞蛋仔的製作都很花心機和時間。透過

與設計師溝通和瞭解，導師們的悉心教導，組員們的互

相配合和分工合作，令我們有幸與靜茹一起完成這件充

滿童趣的作品。

In this competition, Jeannette selected egg puffs as the main theme and designed an interesting outfit for her social worker. At the beginning of production, we thought the project could be finished easily. However, we found that there are lots of details are required, for examples, the match of colours, textures of the fabrics, and the production of each egg puff, which needs much more time and expenditure. Through the communication with designer, guidance from teachers, and cooperation with group mates, we are so glad to finish this project together with Jeannette successfully.

創作靈感和意念來源：因為媽媽提早退下工作火綫，全時間照顧我，所以我想送媽媽一件裙。我很喜歡音樂和看見彩虹，所以用音符和彩虹作構圖，希望媽媽的生活充滿喜樂和色彩。

Design Idea & Inspiration:My mother took early retirement in order to take care of me, I want to design a dress for her to show my gratitude. I use musical notes and rainbow as main theme, because I love music and rainbow, and hoping her life fills with colors and happiness.

因為我們組員中的大部分是工學院的學生，所以經常在學校的工業中心做實驗。一次很偶然的機會，我們參

觀了同在工業中心的製衣間，感覺非常新奇，一直非常希望能有機會在那裏嘗試一下剪裁布料，體驗使用縫

紉機的感覺。

這次社會服務課給了我們這樣一個寶貴的機會，我們組負責一條獨具特色的綠色音符彩虹裙子。從組員一起

到布料市場選擇合適的布料，然後聯系服務對象量度三圍，到不斷嘗試製作樣本和作者與老師商量探討，直

到最後定樣式完成製作，我們經歷了大半年。這個過程雖然有些辛苦，但更多的是看到服務對象臉上滿意笑

容後的開心和滿足。這要感謝我們組員的團結協作，大家能積極獻策，求同存異。更要感謝服務對象的友好

配合和老師們的悉心指導，幫助我們能好的完成這項任務。

Because most of our members are students of engineering, we often do experiments at the industrial center of PolyU. Once a chance, we visited the design center which is located in the same building, and we feel very new and interesting. We looked for the new experience in the fabric cutting also the use of sewing machine.This service learning course gives us such a valuable opportunity. Our group is responsible for a unique green rainbow notes skirt. Starting from the sourcing of the right fabric from market, contacting the service recipient for body measurements, trying to make garment samples under the discussion with the designer and teacher, and finally complete the garment outfit. We have spent six months to go through all those process. We have faced many challenges, but more often, we can see happy face and our service recipient smiles with satisfaction. The unity and co-operation of our team members are much appreciated. We all participate actively and also could comprise easily. In addition, we are grateful to the co-operation of our service recipients, and also the kind guidance from our teachers, without their help to us, we would unable to complete this task.

創作靈感和意念來源：我鍾意色彩繽紛的圖案，尤其粉紅色。我鍾意貓頭鷹，因為好得意。藍色的貓頭鷹代表爸爸，粉紅色的貓頭鷹代表媽媽，綠色的貓頭鷹代表我。我掛住媽媽，所以設計件衫送給她。

Design Idea & Inspiration:I like colorful patterns especially the pink. I like owls because they look cute. The blue color owl in my design represents my father, while the pink owl is my mother, and the green one stands for me. I would like to design a dress for my mother because I miss her all the time.

在製作服裝的過程中，我們遇到了不少問題。首先，我

們要考慮選用那種方法和技巧設計及製作客人所設計的

服裝。服裝的其中一個特點是裙子印了一些圖案而我們

組一致認為數碼打印方法能達到最佳效果。然而，我們

在量度圖案實際大小時遇上難題，不過最後我們仍能將

問題迎刃而解。此外，由於我們在服裝製作方面沒有足

夠的知識，令我們難以縫紉一條有水平的長裙。但是，

我們在老師的協作下學習了應對不同布料的各種縫紉方

法，令我們獲益良多。

Through the process of garment making, our group has to face some difficulties. Firstly, we need to figure out how to make the design of the dress based on our client’s requirement. Though we chose the printing technique to make the motifs design on the dress, we faced the difficulties in determining the specific measurements of the fabric print. Fortunately we managed to solve the problem finally. Another difficulty is the sewing of the dress. As we are not skillful in garment sewing, it is difficult for us to finish the dress in good quality, but we have learnt the making up method and the appropriate sewing techniques from our teachers. These knowledge and experience is really useful to us.

創作靈感和意念來源：這條長裙用了藍色做主調，衣服上有 Create 的字，代表創造。希望可以憑着自己的雙手創造可能性。Create是用鏡片的，透過鏡反映自己的另一面。然後是一條裙，這條裙有數層，最底的那層是用紗的物料，中間那層用網，表達自己從零開始編織自己的夢想。最上面那層是用薄紗做的，表達自己在實現夢想的道路得到活力，自己思想比起以前來說更加廣闊（多角度思考）。我現正踏入成人階段，為自己訂立目標，希望透過雙手去實現夢想，「有心不會遲」，只要有心的話一定能夠去到目的地。這條長裙是實用和美觀並重，為了創造更多可能性，所以長裙能拆成一件上衣和一條裙，能夠用更多服裝去配搭，如同我的未來一樣，有更多可能性。

Design Idea & Inspiration:The main tone of this dress is blue, and there is a “Create “motif on the front bodice which represents the possibility of creation by our own hands. The “Create” motif is made of mirror pieces which symbolize the hidden side of the one self. The skirt composes of multiple layers. The bottom layer is organza and the middle layer is made of net material which represents that I can catch my dream by the net. The top layer is made of soft gauze which represents the pursuing of dream with passion, and my mindset also be broadened. Turning from a teen to an adult, I have learnt to set up targets for myself and pay effort to achieve the dreams. I am sure it is never too late to achieve my goal if I am determined to do so. This outfit is practical and beautiful. Since the top and skirt can be worn separately, it can provide different combinations and this is same as my days ahead, my future may have different possibilities.

創作靈感和意念來源：與女兒聊天的時候，勾起了以往跟子女一起到遊樂場的開心回憶。對於遊樂場最深刻的印象就是摩天輪，鞦韆和馬騮架。最喜歡的花是菊花。斗篷多數在冬天穿著，佩貞想在斗篷上放上最溫暖的回憶，令冬天更溫暖開心。

Design Idea & Inspiration:The chatting with her daughter recalled Pui Tsing’s happy memories with her kids in the playground. The ferris wheel, swing and the climbing frame of the playground impressed her the most. Chrysanthemum is Pui Tsing’s favorite, and cloak is commonly worn in the winter. Pui Tsing wants to present her warmest memories on the cloak to warm and cheer up the winter.


這次活動是一個很難得的機會讓我們活用上課學到的

知識和技能去服務他人。我們很榮幸能夠幫助婆婆完

成她的設計。在過程中，雖然我們遇到不少困難，但

在老師和組員的協助下，婆婆的設計最終活現眼前。

我們在幫助婆婆完成製作的同時，體會到團體合作，

與人溝通及時間管理的重要性。我們獲益良多，得到

的不只有知識，更是喜悅和經驗。同時，我們明白

到在忙碌的生活中亦應不忘關心和貢獻社會。

This event is a rare opportunity for us to make use of what we have learnt during lessons to serve the others. It is our honour to finish the garment for the service recipient. Though we have faced a lot of challenges in the whole process, the garment is finally completed under the cooperation of our group members and the support from our teacher. This activity not only brings us new knowledge but also a sense of accomplishment and valuable experiences which would be useful for us in the future. Meanwhile, we realize that other than work for ourselves, it is important to care and contribute to society.

創作靈感和意念來源：從小便失去視力的何婆婆，天天都充滿着「正能量」和「歡笑臉」，樂活着每一天。何婆婆自豪地告訴我們，年青時她能獨自照顧自己和女兒。女兒成家立室後亦擔當外婆角色，繼續照顧兩位可愛的外孫女。視力上的距離，從未分隔他們「心」的距離，反而變得更貼近、更親近。孝順的女兒和兩位外孫女，日常時常悉心照料婆婆的服飾和打扮，出席院舍、家庭和社區各項活動。服飾成為了不可缺少的一環，為了好好留住當下，他們一家人很喜歡拍照及留住歡笑一刻。所以一家人希望有一套「家庭裝」。當你遇見何婆婆、女兒和兩位外孫女，他們一家人臉上也帶着「幸福的笑臉」。

Design Idea & Inspiration:Ho Shoon got blind at a very young age. She is very positive and always wears a smiling face. She is proud to tell us that she can take care of herself and her daughter when she was young. After her daughters got married and gave birth to two adorable grandchildren, she played her role as grand-mother to look after the granddaughters. Her physical disability never be the barrier of their love, instead it makes their heart closer.Her daughters and two granddaughters take good care of Ho Shoon. They always accompany her to attend elderly homes, family and community activities. Clothing has become an indispensable part of such activities. They like to keep the happy moments by taking photos. Thus Ho Shoon wants to design a set of garments for her beloved family members. You could find the “happy smile” on their faces whenever you meet Madam Ho’s families.

在這個工作坊，我們協助何順婆婆去設計了一系列用心型

圖案點綴的家庭裝。當我們第一次見到何順婆婆燦爛奪目

的笑容時，我們立刻感受到她對家人的愛與關懷，明媚的

笑容更深深感動了我們組員的心。她告訴了我們心心圖案

是源自她跟家人之間的親密無間的關係。我們對她們一家

的相互扶持十分感動，於是我們決定盡力幫她將所想展示

出來。雖然婆婆並不能看得十分清楚，但她仍能感受，所

以我們用了一些立體的心形。何婆婆沒有放棄每日與生活

搏鬥，她的堅持和毅力，正正展現了香港人的精神，帶給

我們支持和鼓勵，令我們有了深切的反省。

In this project, our team helped Granny Ho to make a set of family costumes which are decorated with heart shaped motifs. We could feel the passion and positive energy from the splendid smile of Granny Ho when we first met her at the caring home. She told us her idea of using heart decorations on the garment is originated from the love between her family members. We are impressed by her motivation and would try our best to help the completion of her wish. Though Granny Ho is unable to see clearly, we hope she could feel the 3D heart decorations made by us. The endurance and determination of Granny Ho gives us courage and support to face the difficulty.

創作靈感和意念來源：因為我的表妹在我困難的時期幫助我很多，所以我想通過為她設計一件衣服表達我的謝意。她喜歡功夫，非常男性化。我想通過設計一件衣服來展示她女性化的一面。我希望將這件特別為她設計的衣服作為送給她的生日禮物，藉以證明她對我是多麼的獨特。

Design Idea & Inspiration:I want to design this dress for my younger cousin as she has helped me out during my hard time. She likes Kung Fu and looks very boyish. I hope she would look more feminine by wearing the dress designed by me. For showing her special position in my heart, I want to send her this special dress as her birthday gift.

在這個活動之中，我們在四個月的時間中從陌生人轉變為一

個團隊。過程中使我們明白團隊精神的重要性，在於個人、

團體力量的體現。每個成員都要將自已融入集體，才能充

分發揮個人的作用。團隊精神的核心是協同合作，每個人的

工作都不是絕對獨立的。分工是離不開協作，協作是為了更

好的工作。我們很高興能夠有這個特別經歷和機會為服務對

象製作其心目中的服裝。

From unknown to each other at the beginning, we become a good working team within four months through the joining of this activity. As the work of each member is not completely independent, collaboration is most important in team spirt. The purpose of work division is to complete the work easier and better, thus good collaboration becomes very important. Each member should devote their full strength to their part of the role. We are happy to have this enjoyable experience and also the opportunity to serve our client.

設計對象：媽媽 + 自己Designed for: Mother and Himself

創作靈感和意念來源：時空交錯，母子情仍沒有停下來。用母子睡衣系列，表示兒時母子溫馨。睡衣布印上各式各樣精美麫包圖案，是有特別意義的。原來現在媽媽每日都為返庇護工場的兒子買一個麫包，生怕他下午肚餓，生活點滴，平平凡凡，但感人真摯。

Design Idea & Inspiration:This is a set of pajamas which demonstrates the warmth and intimacy between mother and son. A variety of bun motifs were selected for the fabric design because of a special meaning. Pak Lam works in sheltered workshop. His mother gives him a bun every day because she worry Pak Lam would be hungry in the afternoon. This is already warm and very touching to Pak Lam though it is nothing very special.

在這個展才設計工作坊中，我們和設計者李柏霖合作製作

一對印有各式各樣麵包圖案的母子睡衣。柏霖擁有無窮無

盡的想象力，與他交流期間總能有新意念，如各種各樣特

別設計的麵包圖案以及加入麵包抱枕。

我們建基於原有設計以及部份與柏霖討論的新意念，在老

師們的協助下共同完成這套母子睡衣。完成後不單獲得製

作衣服的經驗，同時學會與不同界別人士的相處之道。

Our group cooperates with our service recipient to make a set of mother-and-son pajamas which is full of bread pattern design. Pak Lam has a vivid imagination and always gives us new ideas such as the special bread design fabric and the bread shaped pillow. Under the assistance from tutors, we successfully finished the set of pajamas based on his original design inspiration. In this service learning subject, we found that we gain not only the garment making experience, we have also learned how to get along with people from different sectors.

看見設計師的樣稿時我們只認為這件「貓恤衫」很有趣，十

分欣賞他的創意。跟志傑及他的導師鋒 Sir 會面後，才知道

這件衣服包含了設計師對其導師的瞭解及關愛。為了傳達這

份愛，我們用心達成每一個步驟，從深水埗訂布到選擇貓眼

及貓鬚的材料。製作過程中我們遇過各種意外和困難，感謝

學系教師們的指導和體諒，使我們能順利完成這件貓恤衫，

從中獲益良多。

At the first time we saw the design sketch, we were amused by the cat face design of the shirt, and we admired the creativeness of the designer. When we found that the shirt is not merely a product of imagination, it is a gift for our service recipient to express his love and thankfulness to his tutor. In order to voice the message of Chi Kit, we try our best to complete this task. We chose the materials at Sham Shui Po very carefully. The material being used included not only the fabrics, it also includes the materials for making the eyes and whiskers. We have to thank the guidance and patience of our tutors. We have learnt a lot from this subject.

創作靈感和意念來源：麥伯伯為了感謝妻子多年的照顧及懷念過去的珠寶事業，特意以妻子最喜愛的顏色，設計了一件珠光寶氣的背心外套給他的愛妻。淺藍的背心外套，代表著藍天與白雲，外套上更以各式各樣的花朵和寶石點綴，猶如處身於鳥語花香的郊外，表達出婆婆對大自然的渴望與追求。

Design Idea & Inspiration:In order to express his thankfulness to his wife over the years and also to commemorate his past jewelry business, Uncle Mak chooses his wife’s favorite blue color to design a vest that bedecked with jewelry decorations. The light blue vest is the sunny sky, the flowers and gems embellishment on pockets like the flowers beds in the country side, this is to express his wife’s desire and pursuit of nature.

是次的「展才設計」活動中，我們小組需要互相合作

為麥伯伯製作一件珠光寶氣的背心外套和一條長褲給

予他的妻子。過程中我們獲益匪淺，除了學會選購材

料和裁縫的技巧之外，更重要是能學習如何關懷社會

中的弱勢社群。相比其他學術性的科目，是次活動實

屬一次難得的學習機會。日後我們亦希望可以參加更

多類似的義工活動，走出書本，回饋社會。

In this event, our team needed to create a blue vest and a pair of black trousers for Mrs. Mak. During the process, we learned how to select appropriate material, sewing techniques, and most importantly, how to care the vulnerable group of our society. Compared to our other academic subjects, we would like to join more similar activities as we think this is a valuable learning experience for us to step outside the classroom, and make contribution to the society by applying what we have learnt.

創作靈感和意念來源：這一條晚裝裙的設計是以珠片網形布為底，再於結位縫上不同顏色的閃石為裝飾，令整條裙生色不少。我想設計給在中心裏的窈窕可人兒——周姑娘。妳敢穿著這條性感的晚裝裙嗎？

Design Idea & Inspiration:The design of this evening dress is made of net structured gauze fabric with black sequins. It will be decorated with different color glittering rhinestone beads which will provide additional glittering effect to make the dress looks more attractive. I would like to offer this dress to the lovely and slim lady in our center. Do you dare to wear this sexy evening dress, Miss Chow?

我們感到很榮幸成為這個團隊的一份子，並能夠貢獻自己的力量一起合作完成這任務。我們的服務對象是位

友善而且精力充沛的長者。她為一位姑娘設計了一件以神秘和性感為主題的晚裝。在整個製作過程中，我們

發揮了團隊精神、合作和互相信任，才能順利完成。另外，最重要的是溝通，雖然大家都各有所長，但我們

都不會獨自工作。相反，我們會分享自己的經驗，因此能互相學習。儘管遇上了難題，我們都全心全意地接

受這些挑戰，與服務對象商討合作，平衡各方面的需要，以達致最佳效果。在導師悉心的指導下，我們最後

亦能成功完成服裝製作，並獲益良多。

We feel honored to be part of this team and to contribute our effects to accomplish this project. Our service recipient is a friendly and energetic elderly who designs a mysterious and sexy dress for her social worker. Throughout the production process, we built a strong team spirit. We have also learnt that cooperation and mutual trust is essential if we want completing the task successfully. In addition, we understand that communication is most important. Although we all have our own strengths, we will not work alone. Instead, we share our experiences and learn from each other. Despite the challenges, we are wholeheartedly to work with our client and to balance the needs of all parties in order to achieve the best results. Under the guidance of our instructors, we completed the task successfully and gain a wonderful experience.

創作靈感和意念來源：鷹揚喜歡蛇，喜歡牠動作靈活敏捷，可以無聲無息地進行活動。雖然牠給人的印象是不能近距離接觸溝通，但凡事都可以改觀，重點是你怎樣看待及相處。我將兩條雙間蛇互相交纏在外套背面，特意營造一種和諧相知的感覺，加上套裝衫袖及褲管上共有六條蛇，比喻我六六無窮的人生。

Design Idea & Inspiration:Ying Yeung l ikes snakes because they are flexible and agile. Snakes can move rapidly and silently. Although the general impression on snakes is they are not easy to communicate or to contact in a closely way, yet I believe nothing cannot be changed. It merely depends on how to treat each other. There are two snakes intertwined with each other at the back bodice of the jacket which creates a sense of harmony. In addition, there are six snakes on the sleeves and also on the pants. This represents the metaphor of my life.

背面的蛇是這個設計的主要角色，它佔了我們過程中大部分時間去討論和計劃，以強調蛇的特徵。製衣的過

程不是一件容易的事。雖然我們有些人對縫製外套和褲子毫不熟練，技術人員和老師卻耐心地教導我們，

並向我們示範每一部分車縫的步驟。與友善的技術員學習製作服裝的過程很快樂，當我們完成我們的目標時

我們感到很滿足。吳博士總是強調，這門課程不僅是關於製衣，而且是與他人溝通。我們認為我們現在已通

過這個服務學習計劃明白了吳博士的意思。謝謝你給我們這個好的經驗。

It is a fascinating experience for us to learn sewing, drawing pattern and get along with our service recipient as well as their caretakers. We have learnt the importance of communication and the time management from this project. The snake decoration at the back of the jacket is the main character of the design, and we have spent most of the time to discuss how to accentuate the feature of the snake. The making of the garment is not an easy job to us. Some of us were not skillful at sewing jacket and trouser, but the tutors taught us steps by steps patiently. The process of making the garment under the guidance of the amazing technicians was joyful, and we have great satisfaction when we accomplished our goal. Dr. Ng always emphasized that this subject is not focus only on garment making, the communication with others is also the study objective. We found that we have learnt and understood what Dr. Ng meant through this service learning subject. Thank you for giving us this nice experience.

創作靈感和意念來源：榴槤外表充滿尖銳的刺，在這外表下，卻蘊藏溫軟的內心。在父母心中，子女就等如榴槤一樣。無盡的水，就如關懷你的父母及家人，時刻都包圍和包容榴槤。所有父母都包容子女的缺點，無論對錯與否，都會全力支持。

Design Idea & Inspiration:The surface of durian is rough and spikey, but it is soft and fruity inside. Children are similar to durians in the heart of parents. Just like restless water surrounding the spikey durian trees, parents will always tolerate the mistakes of their children, and give them unconditional love and support.

我們感到十分榮幸能與蔡思華小姐合作。在製作過程中，我

們學到了很多實用的縫製技巧及溝通技巧，亦建立了良好的

團隊精神。

當中最困難的莫過於呈現和融合「榴槤」和「水」的特徵在

裙子上。最後，我們選擇了「東南西北」這摺紙技藝表達榴

連的尖釘。

總括而言，這是一次難忘的經驗，而我們亦非常享受當中的

過程。

We are thankful to have this opportunity to serve a talented disabled designer, Sze Wah. During the garment making process, we have learnt a lot of useful sewing techniques and communication skills as well as how to build up team spirits. The most challenging part of this project is the presentation of the “spikey durian” design of the dress. Fortunately, the idea of “paper fortune teller”- a very basic origami art technique came across our mind, and we finally can achieve the spikey effect successfully.To conclude, it is a wonderful experience and we all enjoy the process to help other people by making their dreams come true.

創作靈感和意念來源：我希望此作品可以讓在我們學校教授體育的尹老師穿著西裝上班而不用時時穿便服。另外，除了西裝之外，此設計亦包括了一個大公事包，希望尹老師可以擺放運動衫及運動鞋在內讓老師在有需要時方便更換。

Design Idea & Inspiration:This is a suit which I design for Mr. Wan who teaches Physical Education in my school. Other than wearing sportswear every day, I hope he can wear suit at school. In addition, I also design a large briefcase to carry his sportswear and sports shoes.

黃智銘同學的設計不但在視覺上非常有趣，亦同時為我們帶來了一個創新的設計理念：體育老師除了穿著運

動衫外，也可以選擇穿其他衣服上班。

整個製作過程中也是一個非常好的機會讓我們跟不同人溝通。另外，由於我們需要基於黃智銘同學的設計去

製作最後的作品，我們亦學會了如何基於別人的設計概念以及功能去作出合理的修改。

我們組同時包含了紡織及製衣學院和設計學院的學生，組員之間的溝通及合作非常順利及愉快。由搜尋適合

的布料、將黃智銘同學的設計稍作修改以方便實體化、複製紙樣，到裁剪布料，組員們都基於自己的能力工

作在有需要時出手相助。

The design of our client is amazing and brings a new insight to us that PE teacher could wear different types of garment at school not only the sportswear.This is a good opportunity for us to learn how to communicate with different people. As we need to follow the design of our client, we have learnt how to make minor modification for better quality but still remain the uniqueness and functionality of the product.As our group includes students from ITC and Design Department, the cooperation between us becomes essential and inevitable. From the stage of finding fabric materials, pattern preparation, fabric cutting and garment making, we work hand in hand and also try our best to help each other based on our abilities.

創作靈感和意念來源：潤玉是柴灣工場勤奮組學員，勤奮組導師湯姑娘是位勤力不竭，又熱愛運動的女士，就著她榮休在即，潤玉希望送上運動Tee 和短褲給她跑步和扒龍舟使用。運動 Tee 上印有勤奮組二十名學員的手掌外形和手掌圖案，表示送上祝福、鼓勵和支持，而多色手掌圖案能表現出溫暖、熱鬧、歡樂和勉勵。潤玉是位徐動型大腦痳痺症患者，因肌肉會不自主地顫動或扭曲，提筆書寫和塗畫都有一定的難度，需要別人協助。設計手掌圖案時，先請每位學員在紙上勾畫出自己的手掌，剪出再用蠟筆塗上顏色，然後由協助者按設計指示擺放在指定的位置。感謝勤奮組學員和各位協助的朋友，希望湯姑娘能穿上潤玉設計的衣服。

Design Idea & Inspiration:My tutor, Ms. Tong is not only diligent in her work, she is also enthusiastic at sports. As Ms. Tong is going to retire, I hope to present her a set of sportswear for dragon boat racing as a gift. There are twenty handprints on the shirt which belong to the twenty members in the workshop. The handprints represent our blessings, encouragement and supports to Ms. Tong. The handprints are very colorful as it symbolize warmness, liveliness and joyfulness.Yun Yuk cannot control her limbs and muscle movements, and thus unable to write and paint. The handprints were made by outline the hand of individual member, and then cut and placed together on the designated position designed by Yun Yuk. She would like to thank all members and helpers in the design process, and hope Ms. Tong would like this outfit.

聽到黃潤玉女士的設計意念後，我們都被隊員的心

意及湯姑娘服務社會的熱誠打動，因此我們決定幫

助她。起初製作過程並不順利，我們在設計魚鱗時

遇到困難。期後經過多次與湯姑娘及 Frency 的討論

下，魚鱗的設計才逐漸成型。儘管手工粗糙，但當

我們看到製成品時都感到十分感動，不禁想起我們

四處奔波去買布、通宵達旦縫上珠片的時光。感謝

湯姑娘、Frency 及工作坊義工的協助，這件作品才

能夠順利誕生。

We have faced a big challenge during the process of garment making at the beginning. We have no idea on how to present the scales design on the shorts in fabric. After the consultation with our tutors for their professional advice, we found the solutions. Although our work is far from perfect, we got job satisfaction when the garment is completed. This set of garment provides us memorable experience which includes the search of correct materials, sequins sewing from dusk to dawn. Finally, we would like to thank the help from Ms. Tong, Dr. Frency Ng and other workshop technicians, without their assistance, we would face a great hardship to finish this project.

創作靈感和意念來源：我喜歡十七世紀的英國皇家衛隊，由於我相當欣賞他們貫徹騎士精神，所以我很希望融入社會的生活裡與他們一樣具有勇氣挑戰困難。我想藉此機會設計這件較保暖的斗篷給自己在秋冬季方便穿著以防寒風之用，並以酒紅色為主要顏色，披風正面選用了格紋圖案，把主題名為“當衛兵遇上小紅帽”。

Design Idea & Inspiration:I admire the British Royal Guard in the 17th century because of their implementation of chivalry. I hope I can have courage to face challenges and difficulties that I may encounter in future. I would like to design a warm cloak for myself to keep warm in the cold winter. The main color of this coat is wine red and there are plaid pattern at front for decoration. I named my outfit as “ The Guard meets the Little Red Riding Hood”.

這次展才設計活動給我們四個組員上了一堂意義非凡的

課。我們從中學會和設計者溝通，瞭解余祖堂的設計理

念，更學到了如何選材，將紙上的畫作變為現實中驚艷

的作品。這個過程漫長卻豐富。一件大衣，配有溫暖的

紅色和獨具匠心的繩結作為點綴，在這個冬天從視覺和

生理上給祖堂帶來溫暖。這讓我們感到很滿足。

The four members of our team all learned a very significant lesson from this “Youreable Fashion Design” project. We have learnt not only on the communication skill with the service recipient, we need to understand his design concept, and learned how to select materials, and make a real garment based on the design sketch. The whole process is a long but fruitful journey. A warm red coat with unique ornamental knots brings satisfaction to our client from both physical and visual aspects. We also feel satisfactory in the participation of this work.

香港理工大學紡織及製衣學系於 2006 年獲得捐助，成立「綾緻康健服裝中心」。綾緻康健服裝中心作為東南亞區一所創新的康健服裝中心，結合「專業」與「服務社群」理念，以提供嶄新及多元化的康健服裝及相關服務予年長及殘疾人士為宗旨。此外，中心以衣服作為關心社群的媒介，集結專業力量，包括紡織及製衣學專業學者、服裝設計師及技術員、康復治療師、醫護專才與社會科學界人士，設計及展示各類康健服裝，藉此回饋及服務社會，讓公眾對康健服裝有更多認識。

何謂康健服裝 ?

康健服裝專為穿衣服較困難或有特別需要人士設計的服裝，其特點如下：

衣服的設計照顧了使用者的需要，幫助使用者更易穿著，一方面增加使用者的自顧能力，另一方面減輕照顧者的負擔，從而幫助使用者建立更多自信和尊嚴，讓其心理質素得以改善。

康健服裝著重其功能性及外觀，有助使用者建立及改善社交能力。衣服的設計及用料均照顧使用者的心理和生理舒適度，為使用者提供適當的保護。

綾緻康健服裝中心


The Institute of Textiles and Clothing of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University obtained funding support and established “Troels H. Povlsen Care Apparel Centre” in 2006. As an original and innovative care apparel centre in the Far East region, the Centre integrates the concepts of ‘specialised clothing’ and ‘social care’ with an aim to serve the elderly and disabled. Through clothing, it demonstrates care and concern for the society. The Centre also provides the community with specialist consultation and resources in order to promote the concepts and importance of care apparel through the joint efforts of experts at the Institute of Textiles and Clothing, clothing designers and technicians, rehabilitation specialists, health care professionals and social scientists.

What Is Care Apparel?

Care Apparel is intended for those who have difficulty in dressing as well as those with special clothing needs. These are the main features of care apparel:

The clothing designs permit more independence and enable the wearers to take care of their personal needs as much as possible. The specialized designs also help to reduce the responsibilities of those who take care of them. The Care Apparel can also enhance self-confidence and self-esteem which are beneficial to the psychological well-being of the wearers.

The clothing can meet functional and appearance requirements, thereby contributing to the social adjustment of the wearers.

Psychological and physical comfort are taken into consideration when designing and choosing materials for care apparel in order to enhance a sense of well-being for the wearers and to reduce chances of undue accidents or hazards.
