Secunda LunarisThe New Precision Pendulum Clock with Calendar and Moon Phase Indication

The beloved precision pendulum clocks Classica Secunda

1935, 1985, and 1995 have already been around for more

than twenty years. Clock enthusiasts have often expressed the

desire to have a moon phase or date displayed directly on

the dial of these precision clocks. With the development and

production of the Secunda Lunaris model, the Erwin Sattler

manufactory carries its grand tradition of precision pendulum

clocks impressively into the future. This new movement featu-

res sweep minute and hour hands, while the second hand is

located in an off-center position above the cutaway.Slightly below the center of the silver -plated dial there are two

smaller subsidiary dials displaying the day and the date. Posi-

tioned precisely below the middle in another cutaway,

a beautifully hand-painted moon disk indicates the current

moon phase. The cutaway within the display for the seconds

and a recess in the plate allow a view of the gold-plated

gear wheels and the Graham deadbeat escapement with its

agate pallets.

An especially loving detail is the star-shaped escape wheel

bridge secured with polished screws. The highly polished

plates are nickel- plated, providing an especially beautiful con-

trast to the gold-plated gear wheels. The Graham deadbeat

escapement with its jewel pallets guarantees a constant trans-

mission of energy to the pendulum. During winding, a

so- called power-maintaining mechanism drives the pendulum.

This clock is an extremely accurate timekeeper whose maxi-

mum rate deviation is no more than one to two seconds per

month under optimum conditions. To prevent greater rate

deviation, which can be caused by fluctuations in temperature

and air pressure, an aneroid capsule instrument with baro-

metric display is attached to the pendulum. A precisely

calculated, freely moving compensation tube compensates for

temperature-related changes in the length of the pendulum rod,

which is made of a special alloy called Superinvar.

The fine Breguet-style hands are manufactured in the classic

manner, painstakingly domed, polished, and blued by hand.

Like the successful Classica Secunda model, the Secunda

Lunaris is graced with a ball bearing rope pulley for the

winding weight. Additionally, a window in the top of this clock

allows illumination of the movement from above. Accessories

are discreetly stored in an integrated compartment in the bot-

tom of the case.

Production of all the individual parts needed for an exclusive

small series of a maximum of ten handmade Sattler clocks

takes an average of two years. These precious timekeepersare justifiably recognized around the world as superior

examples of the fine art of clockmaking.

Metallica 1735 whitePrecision Pendulum Clock with White Hand-Polished Varnished Case

A precision pendulum clock doesnt always need to have a

one-second pendulum and be one and a half meters tall to

measure time accurately. Erwin Sattler has long years of

experience with 5/6-second pendulum clocks. The Metallica

1735 has a shorter pendulum, so its second hand moves six

times in five seconds.The Metallica 1735s elegant, modern case is embellished with

fine metal inlays, coated with thirteen layers of white varnish,

and finally polished by hand to a mirror finish. A glass top

increases illumination of the escapement subgroup in the open

movement. Anti-reflective glass panes allow the observer to

admire the movements fascinating mechanics. The winding

crank and fine regulating weights are located in a hidden

compartment in the bottom of the case.

This movement is the result of twenty years of experience in

precision pendulum clockmaking. The manufactory uses

computer-controlled precision milling machinery to produce all

of the milled parts such as the base plates, the four- legged esca-

pe wheel bridge, the counterweight for the minute hand and,

of course, the gear wheels. These are then polished, finished,and finally nickel- or gold-plated. The pallet lever is naturally

outfitted with agate pallets, and all wheels run on ball and ruby

bearings. Thanks to minimized friction in the gear train and with

the help of a tungsten weight suspended at the side on a fili-

greed ball bearing rope pulley, this clock also has a running

time of thirty days per winding interval.

A solid, polished, nickel-plated brass bezel frames the silver-

plated dial with its domed and blued hands. With its noble

elegance and exceptional quality, the Metallica 1735 will

certainly occupy a special place of honor in any house itgraces, as well as impressively illustrate the art of classic

pendulum clockmaking for future generations.

The Nautical Multipurpose Instrument

CarbonautisPrecise Quartz Clock with Barometer, Thermometer, and Hygrometer

Keeping in step with our present high-tech age, Erwin Sattler

presents the Carbonautis, a multipurpose instrument made

from such modern materials as carbon fiber and aluminum.

In the same way that a high-tech sports car represents

the combination of several elements into a unique whole,

these four instruments are combined into a single elegant and

extraordinary unit.

The clocks dial and the precision twin barometers are made

of carbon fiber and have two applied, milled, and anodized

aluminum scales. To facilitate the legibility of the changes in

air pressure, the barometer also has a manually adjustable

reference needle in the glass.

Stainless steel or rose gold-plated needles indicate the

temperature and humidity on the anodized aluminum dials

of the laterally fitted instruments.

The milled, glass bead-blasted and nickel-plated case,crafted from a single solid block of aluminum, sports form-

fitted, anti-reflective mineral glass.

To ensure simple, secure installation, the 4 mm thick base

plate of the ensemble is attached to an aluminum mounting

plate using four polished knurled nuts.

An individually engraved plate with the serial number makes

each Carbonautis unique.

The Elegant Combination of Clock, Barometer, and Hygrometer

There are sixty watch winders behind the panels, all

outfitted with Sattlers globally unique Beluwo watch winder

technology, which is protected by the German Patent and

Trademark Office.

For the first time, this machine makes it possible to give each

watch from the past, present, or future the careful treatment it

deserves. The winding speed and direction of each electronic

motor is precisely adjustable. It is worth mentioning in this

context that the Rotalis fulfills the demands of each watch

movement more precisely and comfortably than any other

conventional watch winder. Relevant data for more than

5,000 different automatic watches is stored in the

accompanying database, and collectors can transfer it from

any computer via wireless connection to the watch winder.

This means that the owner can be sitting at his or her desk

The clockmakers, precision mechanics, and electrical

technicians at the clock manufactory have included all of the

proven technology of the smaller precision watch winders in

Looking at this work of art from the outside, one might think

he or she is seeing two huge flat-screen TVs. In reality, this

object comprises two 18 mm thick bulletproof glass panels

into which a one-way mirror has also been integrated. This

allows one to see the treasures hidden securely behind

the glass only when the remote control is used to turn on the

100 LED lights inside the cases.

Next to the case there is also a small fingerprint reader thatallows the watch collector, at the touch of a finger, to open

the two heavy bulletproof glass panels. A powerful spindle

drive slides the panels apart simultaneously, one rising and

one lowering. This means that only authorized persons

with previously stored fingerprints can open the

case. Naturally, the case can also be opened

using the accompanying remote control.

The intelligent control simulates the course of a day with a

fourteen-hour active phase and a ten-hour passive phase. The

rotations needed per day are optimally portioned out during

the active phase.

Naturally, the Rotalis also functions in a conventional way

without data transfer if that is so desired. Intelligent standard

programming keeps each watch running perfectly every day

right from the start. The highlight of this exceptional technology

is that after completing the winding interval, each watch ends

precisely positioned in the vertical 12 o'clock position.

Aligned horizontally in the middle of this electronic master-

piece are three mechanical precision instruments: the Navis 24,

a mechanical Sattler clock outfitted with an eight-day power

reserve, a second time zone, and the date, is located in the

center. It is flanked by a barometer and a thermometer on

either side.

Two stainless steel columns support the case of the heavy

winder from the outside while heavy-duty screws secure it to

the wall from the inside.

In order to personalize the case, its owner can select any of

the various available decorative polished fine wood panels to

embellish the cases middle. These panels are, for example,

available in walnut, maple, black with metal inlays, and

carbon fiber and can easily be exchanged at a later date

if desired.

treated individually, with its own motor that can be adjusted

according to the number and direction of rotations necessary.

This technology is one- of- a -kind worldwide. No other watch

winder fulfills the demands of each watch movement more

precisely and comfortably than a Rotalis system winder with

its Sattler Beluwo watch winder technology, protected by theGerman Patent and Trademark Office.

For the first time, collectors can find the optimal settings for

their valuable watches in an enclosed watch data base and
