CCelebrate Independence Day as fireworks light the night sky over Ala Moana Beach Park. On July 4, head to Magic Island at 12 noon for food and live entertainment, followed by one of the largest fireworks shows in the country at 8:30 p.m. If you’re looking to beat the July heat, head to the Pakini Bar at Embassy Suites-Waikiki Beach Walk and relax with cool libations such as the “Kahlua Colada” or the “Hula Girl.” With a $25 purchase of food or drink, you can take home “Moki,” a hand-carved coconut monkey, perfect for sipping your ice-cold drinks poolside and a fun memento of your Hawaii vacation. On the Fourth of July, make your way to Magic Island for a lively Ho’olaule’a, the Hawaiian word for festival, or gathering for celebration.
