Together Terrorism is not unknown to

disciples. It comes at different levels

based on what the powers that be, can

get away with doing.

Resistance against Jesus began

early. First, there were questions that

were designed for entrapment. Then,

there were false accusations. Finally,

Jesus was murdered.

When disciples began to preach

the resurrection and message of Jesus,

they too faced resistance. First, it was

slight and from the Jews (Acts 5:28).

Then it intensified (Acts 8:1). As the

Jews incited the civil authorities with

lies, the Roman government came to

be a source of persecution and terror.

Revelation, the final book of the

New Testament, tells disciples how to

handle terrorism. It describes what

they can expect in their immediate

future. Using figurative language,

they are told what will happen to

them and the Roman empire.

The theme is Victory. They had

won through the resurrection of Jesus.

God has defeated Satan and his evil

army, thus his followers win. It is a

proven, past tense, fact. The task of

disciples is to remain faithful. We as

followers, disciples, Christians are on

the winning side, but we have the job

of remaining faithful to our pledge.

Jesus said, “Be faithful, even to

the point of death, and I will give you

the crown of life.” Rev 2:10 NIV This

is more than till death, it means even

if we must die to stay faithful.

Face Terrorism with courage. Do

not tremble in the face of evil. Do not

hide from the world of evil. We are

not told to be foolish or reckless. We

are told to live and speak the truth of

Jesus as the Christ without fear. Charles M Clodfelter

P hysically our hearts are very important to us. We want the appropriate

amount of exercise. We have our blood pressure checked regularly, and

if we find it too high we try to adjust our diet, or take medication to lower the

risk of further damage.

The heart is mentioned many times in the Scripture but mostly it is referring to our spiritual heart. It is the

center of our emotional/spiritual and mental functioning. It reflects our loyalties, and priorities in life. The organ

in our chest needs to be checked regularly, but our spiritual hearts need even more attention. Where is your heart?

It affects your relationship with God and your fellow man. It can grow cold toward the things of God. It can also

harbor rebellion and wickedness that eventually will lead one to act out against the will of God. Jesus taught,

“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matt 6:21). The wise man gives this advice, “As in water

face reflects face, so the heart of man reflects the man” (Pro 27:19). Keep the faith! Darrell
