Hot Rods and Art…Who would’a thought? It all started with cats in thewindows of the Downtown Hutchinson Rod Run van – art created byCalifornia artist Don Roth. The paintings are a true “labor of love” for

the artist, which were done with his beloved cat “Mr. Leo” by his side. Mr. Leoactually was the inspiration for the “Kool Kat” series.

Each of his paintings is highly detailed, nostalgic, and whimsical, painstaking-ly executed in Acrylic paint in an extremely precise technique often incorporatingan airbrush, which, unlike other “cat art” gives these magnificent images the lookof an actual photograph.

Mr. Roth has sent ten of his famous original cat paintings for display and saleduring the Rod Run event.
