This instruction is for the people who install, operate and maintain the Jaw Crusher.

To improve the capacity and the service life, the material feeding should be continuously and evenly. Therefore, when

operating, the machine should match with a proper feeder.

The parameters we mark are subject to the medium hard rock and with bulk density 1.6T/ m³.

The capacity of Jaw Crusher is influenced by various factors, such as material feeding type, material shape, size

composition, the content of material’s dryness and humidity, softness and hardness and so on. Hard and brittle material is

easily to be crushed than hard and tough one; Flake material is easily to be crushed than the one in cubic shape; Mixture

material is easily to be crushed than single size one, and easily to get higher capacity. On the contrary, the capacity will be

material.

CHAPTER ONE PRODUCT OVERVIEW

1.1 PRODUCT USAGE

The machine is large model compound pendulum Jaw Crusher. It has the feature of big crushing ratio, uniform finished

product size, simple structure, reliable operation, easy maintenance, low operation cost. It is widely used in mining,

metallurgy, construction, road, railway, highway, water conservancy and chemical industries. The crusher can crush the

material with size less than 850mm and compression strength less than 350Mpa; it is preferred equipment for the

complete set of production line as the first step crusher.

CHAPTER TWO MAIN STRUCTURE AND PRINCIPLE

2.1 WORKING PRINCIPLE

The machine is driven by Motor, through motor belt pulley, V-belt and groove wheel make the eccentric shaft move, make

the movable jaw do the reciprocate movement as per the preconcert orbit! In this way ,the material is crushed in the

crushing cavity which is made of fixed Jaw plate ,movable jaw plate and guard plate ,and then discharge the final material

from the discharging opening.

2.2 STRUCTURE AND ASSEMBLE

2.2.1 FRAME

The Jaw crusher frame will suffer from large attack in working, so it should have enough strength and rigidity

Frame is weld assembly (the small model is casting steel). In the front of the Frame, there is a fixed jaw plate which is

tightened by bolts; the upper guard plate and Down guard plate which are tightened by bolts inside the frame.

2.2.2 MOVABLE JAW

Movable Jaw is a complete superior casting steel. The inner hole and groove with the accurate manufacturing and

inspection to make sure the operation safe and reliable.

Eccentric shaft with superior high strength forged steel which is made with accurate process, heat treatment and

inspection of fault detection many times, so it has sufficient strength and stiffness!

The Bearing adopts 4 units double-row self-aligning spherical roller bearing, with a good load and self-aligning function!

Movable Jaw Plate and Fixed Jaw Plate is the superior High manganese steel. The shape is symmetrical at upper and

down, namely when one side is worn out ,you can change the way to the other !

Fly wheel and groove wheel are superior iron casting, the weight and the structure sufficiently make the crusher working

evenly. The Fly wheel and groove wheel installed in the eccentric shaft can be changed with each other and they will be

connected by swelling sets!

The assemble procedure of Movable Jaw Parts:

Take two eccentric and two bearings which washed by kerosene, and then install the oil baffle disc in the two side of

eccentric shaft. Put the two bearings into Kerosene with 80-100° and stay for 15 minutes. When the diameter is longer

than eccentric shaft neck journal for 0.15mm, take it out and match the two sides of eccentric shaft, take pressure to stand

up bearings and make it connect with shaft shoulder until bearings is complete cool, the gap should not more than

0.05mm. After matching all the things, wash it clean and then put 50%-70% grease into the bearing.

After installing the transparent cover, Paper gasket, use the bolt to make it tight. At this moment, keep the movable jaw

hole upright, and let the side installed with Transparent cover down, then lift eccentric shaft into Movable Jaw. During

lifting, should pay attention to the following: keep the eccentric shaft and movable jaw hole stay the same, put the bearing

coat upright and foursquare, press it gently for guiding, when the press-in is evenly and continuously, make the

continuous knock (don’t use a hammer knock the bearing directly, should put a cooper bar on the bearing, then know the

cooper bar); after the first bearing is installed, install the second one as the same procedure. Then put 50-70% grease

lubricant, then install the transparent cover, paper pads and etc in other side, and then make it tight with bolt. After

installation, the gap between outer bearing and the transparent cover should with a 0.2-0.4mm gap, it is obtained through

fill in suitable paper gasket.

Put every parts into the eccentric groove, then install every labyrinth inner cover, pay attention to the left and right

direction, take other two bearing which washed by kerosene, put the tight bush into the bearing hole, then install to

eccentric shaft, screw the round nut and the anti-recede gasket as per the structure drawing. Pay attention that the

eccentric shaft has right hand thread and right hand thread, to make the round nut tighter and tighter when rotating, first

screw eccentric shaft round nut, make it tightly press the tight bush, then screw the tight bush round nut, making the

bearing inner race close to the seal ring, repeat like this for several times, at last make the bearing tight, take the tight bush

round nut out, let the gap with bearing inner race around 1mm(when disassemble the bearing, first work loose the

eccentric shaft round nut, second screw the tight bush round nut, then can disassemble the bearing). Press the anti-recede

gasket’s long and short tooth into tight bush round nut and eccentric shat round nut, and tight them, then put 50-70%

grease lubricant, at last install the transparent cover inner ring.

2.2.3 THE INSTALLATION OF FLY WHEEL AND GROOVE WHEEL.

Put fly wheel and groove wheel into eccentric shaft and make them lean close to the seal ring, making sure the fly wheel

and groove wheel mark match with the eccentric shaft mark, then screw the tight bush bolt, each bolt with rotate force

190N.m, and then install the shaft ring properly. (Note: fly wheel and Groove wheel are iron casting, should not hot jacket

during installation).

Groove wheel is installed at the left side of eccentric shaft (see from the feeding port direction), and can also change the

fly wheel and groove wheel position as per the specific working site.

2.2.4 TOGGLE PLATE AND ADJUST PART

Toggle plate is the iron casting with accurate calculation. It not only the transmission components, but also the insurance

parts of Jaw crusher. When the material that can’t be crushed enter the crusher, making the crusher over-load, the toggle

plate will break off at once, then the crusher will stop working to avoid the whole machine from damage. Toggle plat and

toggle gasket adopt rolling contact, In the normal situation, they are few friction, only glazed grease lubricant at the

surface.

Adjust part is used to adjust the discharge opening, and make up the wearing among jaw plate, toggle plate and toggle

plate gasket.

The assemble procedure of adjust part:

Toggle gasket is fixed in the adjusting seat by steel angle sequence and bolt, adjust gasket is put between adjusting seat

and frame sequence, and put supporting bracket, up roof bolt (or Top and hydraulic Jack) via nut or via adjusting gasket

resist the adjusting seat, the upper of the adjusting seat connecting with frame through wedge, up roof bolt or top and

hydraulic jack all can make separate adjustment.

When adjust the discharge opening, at first work loose the nut of tension rod properly, make the spring loose, and then

loose the wedge bolt to loose the wedge, then tight the up roof bolt (Or install hydraulic Jack head into the top and then

rotate into the nut behind the frame, at this time you can open the valve of hydraulic Jack and make the handle to

move )Up roof bolt or Top head push the adjusting set forward, when the discharge opening gets to some extent, take out

the adjusting gasket, to make the discharge opening bigger; If we put the adjusting gasket, we can narrow the discharge

opening. After meeting the needed discharge opening, at first loose up roof bolt (open the inlet oil valve, make the handle

move .Then loose the Top head) the adjustment seat in the force of movable jaw self-weight, adjusting seat and adjusting

gasket move forward the frame back wall, and press it sturdy, should pay attention that the loosen degree of up roof bolt

or Top head should arrive the adjusting seat and won’t press the back wall, then you tight the wedge bolt, tight the wedge

with the adjusting seat, tight the tension rod nut properly and tight the spring, then the discharge opening adjustment is

finished.

2.2.5 TENSION PARTS

Tension parts are to make every crusher part good combined, also it can balance the inertia force between movable jaw

and toggle plate when operation.

The assemble procedure of Tension parts:

Tension rod hooks the ring at the bottom of movable jaw, the other side is supported at the bottom of frame back wall by

gasket, and the spring is compressed by both ends’ gaskets and bolts. When operation, the spring need some retightening

force to prevent toggle plate dropping in operation, but that retightening force should not very big, it is ok to eliminate the

impact noise between toggle plate and movable jaw and adjusting parts, otherwise, it may influence the service life of the

spring, or make the spring crack.

2.2.6 TRACK PARTS

Track is tightly fixed to the Reinforced concrete foundation by foundation bolt.

The motor is installed in the track, support saddle is inlayed in the track tank, adjust the distance between the motor and

main machine as per the tightness degree of V-belt, after fixing the distance, use the setscrew of the support to resist the

motor base, in case it moves.

2.2.7 LUBRICATION PARTS

Lubrication parts is used to make the injection of the lubricating oil (The machine have four lubricating points, separately

at the four bearings places)

CHAPTER THREE OPERATION & SAFETY

3.1 INSTALLATION & DEBUG

There is a very big vibration in working, so this Jaw Crusher should be installed in the foundation of reinforced concrete,

the weight of the foundation is about the 8-10 times of the machine, the depth of foundation is deeper than the depth of

frozen for this land. The foundation drawing size is relative position of main machine and motor and other concerned

parameters. The place to install foundation bolts must leave prepare hole for second grouting. The discharging hopper

height and size are as per the discharging way of working site. To lighten the vibration, in the second grouting, should

pillow at least 10mm cushioning material such as Cloth rubber band between Jaw crusher and concrete foundation, after

the cement in the second grouting is firm, screw the foundation bolt. In this procedure, must use gradient to check the

levelness of the machine, the levelness deviation must in the frame front wall’s width, within 5mm. The check of the

frame levelness is very important, it can avoid the situation that the machine feed material from one side and make the

machine with a odd load to damage the machine. When install the motor, besides checking the distance with the main

machine, also should check whether the motor belt pulley and groove wheel in one flat surface or not, to make sure all the

V-belt working effectively and unanimously. The discharge opening should be adjusted as per the final product sizes and

capacity, before adjusting, should loose the tight spring, after it ready, then adjust the spring properly, in case the toggle

plate fall during operating. See the adjust parts for details.

3.2 THE PREPARATION FOR STARTING THE MACHINE

① Checking the lubrication of bearing; whether the connection of Toggle and movable jaw, adjusting seat gasket is good,

whether there is enough grease between toggle plate and toggle plate gasket.

② Whether all the fastening piece is firm

③ checking whether the weight center place of groove wheel and fly wheel is right, the right place is that when the

machine has a least vibration in operation, generally, the weight center place is subject to the clock for five minutes in the

second page picture.

④ checking whether the installation for driving belt is right, if there is some worn, should change timely, when there is

some grease contamination, should get rid of by clean rag in time.

⑤ Checking whether protective devices is good, if there is some unsafe factor, should get rid of it in time.

⑥ Checking whether there is some material or other material in the cavity, if has, must clear it away.

⑦ Checking whether the adjusting gasket is installed right and press tightly.

3.3 JAW CRUSHER START

① After Checking, only the machine and Transmission Parts are normal, can start the machine.

② This machine can only be started in no-load condition.

③ If there is any abnormal situation, should stop the machine immediately, after finding the reason and get rid of can start

the crusher again.

3.4 JAW CRUSHER OPERATION

① After the machine in normal running, then start the material feeding.

② The material feeding should be continuously and evenly, avoid side feeding and stack feeding, in case one side

overload, sudden load change and stuck.

③ In normal situation, the temperature of bearings shouldn’t high than 30℃ and the highest temperature can’t be over 70℃.

If higher than 70℃, should turn off the machine and find the reason and get rid of.

④ Should stop material feeding before turn off the machine, after all the material is discharged in the crushing cavity, then

stop the motor.

⑤ If the machine is stopped because the material block, should stop the motor immediately, clear away the material and

then re-start the crusher.

⑥ After the fixed jaw plate and movable jaw plate worn on one side, exchange the upper and down sides.

3.5 LUBRICATION

① To make a good operation and extend the service life of the machine, every 100 hours, the single bearing should

replenish grease 300g. If work 12 hours every day, should replenish grease 300g every 8days, with average 40g per day.

② The grease lubricant inject to bearing base should be 50-70% of the cubage, change the grease every 3-6 months,

should wash the raceway and other place with purity Gasoline or kerosene when you change the grease lubricant, open the

oil outlet of at the bottom of the bearing base during washing.

③ The grease lubricant using is as per the local condition, climate and so on, generally using Li grease -2. If the grease is

a little dry, can use thin oil and grease lubricant to mix to use.

④ For the toggle plate and toggle gasket, only add proper quantity grease lubricant at the connection parts in assembly or

maintenance.

3.6 IMPORTANT NOTICE

The user must confirm the execution for the following things to avoid unnecessary loss.

① The user should check the main machinery, motor and other spare parts as per packing list

② The machine should adopt relative feeder to make sure material feeding is evenly.

③ The max feed size for this machine is 850 mm, keep mixed feeding with big and small size. should not make

oversize feeding and stack feeding.

④ Fly wheel and groove are the iron casting , should not hot jacket during installation.

⑤ Swelling sets can’t inject the oil during installation

⑥ Movable jaw plate and fixed jaw plate should be changed when they are worn for 15%(leaving 6-8mm), otherwise,

may cause sudden load change to damage the machine

⑦ Tight all the fastening piece, each time per shift. Especially the swelling sets, for the new machine or new swelling

sets, should tight the high-tension bolt after one or two hours, make the swelling set with absolute connection.

⑧ The dust on the motor should be cleaned timely, in case bad heat dissipation to damage the motor

⑨ Toggle plate is the protective device for the jaw crusher, the structure and the material is calculatedly carefully, once

worn or crack, must change our factory’s spare parts, otherwise, it can’t protect the machine. If changing the foundation

size, must get the permission from the manufacturer.

3.7 EDUCATION OF SAFETY TECHNIQUE FOR OPERATOR

① You must not do any change,clean and check when the machine is in operation .

② You must not see the machine cavity from the upper when the machine is in operation.

③ You must not move or take the material in the feed opening when the machine is in operation .

④ When electric equipment should make ground connecting, the wire should be loaded in the steel pipe and should be

insulate.

CHAPTER FOUR CARE AND MAINTENANCE

4.1 IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR CARE AND MAINTENANCE

① Movable jaw plate and fixed jaw plate should be changed when they are worn for 15%(leaving 6-8mm), otherwise,

may cause sudden load change to damage the machine.

② Tight all the fastening piece, each time per shift. Especially the swelling sets, for the new machine or new swelling

sets, should tight the high-tension bolt after one or two hours, make the swelling set with absolute connection.

③ The dust in the motor should clean timely for fear that burn out the motor

④ In normal situation, the temperature of bearings shouldn’t high than 30℃ and the highest temperature can’t be over 70℃.

If higher than 70℃, should turn off the machine and find the reason and get rid of.
