Brief Profile

Mr. Sven Halle is working in the ICAO European and North AtlanticOffice in Paris, France. He joined ICAO in January 2010 and isRegional Officer, Air Navigation Systems Implementation (Air TrafficManagement) with a focus on the support to the States in theEastern part of the ICAO EUR Region, the implementation of theregional performance framework, the monitoring of GANP/ASBUimplementation, civil/military cooperation issues, crisismanagement and inter-regional coordination aspects.

• In 2006 he was seconded to the European Commission DG TREN(Transport and Energy) Air Transport Directorate in Brussels,Belgium, where he was responsible for the development ofCommunity Specifications, the support to Implementing Rulesactivities and the coordination of all standardization/certificationactivities under the Single European Sky Regulations. Mr. Elie began his aviation carrier with the Lebanese DirectorateGeneral of Civil Aviation as an air traffic controller than attained hisqualification as PANS-OPS specialist and occupied the position Headof AIS for three years without getting away from the radar positionas an ATCO at Beirut Area Control Centre, before joining ICAO in2012.

Mr. Elie is currently the Regional Officer for Air Traffic Managementand Search and Rescue at the ICAO Middle East Regional Officebased in Cairo
