What’s Happening Exalted Ruler MessageMembers All,

First let me wish all of you and your families a happy and safe holiday season. Don’t forget to be thankful for all you have and give a little spirit and joy to those who need it.

December will start with our memorial service on December 6th at 10:00am please come and show respect for all the members we have lost through the year.

We will also be packing Christmas boxes on December 18th at 6pm and delivering them to the community on December 19th at 8:30am. Our annual Christmas party will be held on December 19th hosted by the House Committee and please come down to support the Lodge.

We will have our annual Christmas dinner for the less fortunate community on December 25th please see Amy Potts for more details and come and help us bring cheer.

Just a reminder when proposing a new member please explain to them how to fill it out and even help if necessary, there are instructions with the applications for resource.

We are waiting on the architect to draw up the plans for the remodel of the Lodge and I hope you are as excited as I am to keep moving forward.

I would like thank everyone who helped out with the Sportsmanship dinners of Law, Platt, and Foran and all who came to volunteer for The Special Olympics. These events are what we are all about and makes me proud to call myself an ELK. Fraternally, Bob Magowan PER/Exalted Ruler

Elk of The Month

My choice for Elk of the month is Dave Litvinoff. He has been doing an excellent job with inventory in the tap room and deserves credit for volunteering his time. Thanks Dave for stepping up and helping the tap room run smoothly.

Tip of the Antlers

Roberta Gogliettino for always keeping the pantry and kitchen clean and organized and even cleaning up the bomb shelter. Also Tim Grivolsky for cleaning the fryers. Bob Kuhar, Chris Cameron, Jeff Hall and Pat Langan for helping with the POS system.

Trivia - Saturday, December 12th - 8:00PMTake a break from shopping and come test your knowledge or watch others struggle with their’s! It’s a free event and always a lot of fun.

Christmas Food Baskets Thank you to everyone that has already generously donated to the Food Drive.

It’s Christmas Basket fund time! We will be accepting donations of money to sponsor a Holiday Basket ($25.00 or anything you can give).

Each basket contains food for a family of 4 for 3-4 days. This year ourgoal is the same - 235 baskets.

Important Dates to Remember:- Friday, December 18th at 6 pm - packing of boxes.- Saturday, December 19th beginning around 8:30 am - delivery of the baskets.- Friday, December 25 for helping at the Christmas Day dinner for the needy or lonely. The dinner is from 11:00AM - 2:00PM. We need help before, during and (especially) after.

If you haven’t volunteered for any of these events before – come this year it’s always a fun and very rewarding time. What’s Happening Officers Notes

It is that time of the year when everyone is in full force thinking about the Holiday Season. What better way to make a meaningful Holiday Season than by supporting our Christmas Basket Program! and or help on the Christmas Day Dinner.

Some other ways to make the Holiday Season meaningful:Pay your dues if you are on the lapsation list.

Make a donation to the Elks National Foundation - it comes back to the Lodges Charitable Programs.

Make a donation (through the Lodge) to our State Major Project Fund - CT Children’s Medical Center.

How about helping out on a Lodge function to benefit the Lodge or maybe doing some maintenance work to help the Lodge - just some thoughts.

Balloting on candidates will take place at the Dec. 1st Lodge meeting.
