Members all,

It’s hard to think another year has nearly passed us by, but here we are in the last month of 2019. I’m so proud of all we’ve accom-plished as a team this year and always amazed at the impact we contin-ue to make on our community. Our work as a group reminds me why I joined this great organization. As we celebrate the holidays and come together at the Lodge these next 4 weeks, let’s try to go back to basics. Be kind to your brother/sister Elk. Reach out to a friend who might need a hand. Respect each other, our Lodge, and this great organization we all share together. I hope to see you all at the members Christmas party. Most importantly to me, I look forward to participating in our charitable holiday events. Danette Contaras has already been working hard to get everything together for our annual Christmas basket project. Dona-tions are coming in. We were recently approved for the Beacon Grant through Elks National Foundation to go towards our charitable holi-day events. While the monetary aspect of these events are important, giv-ing your time to participate in packing and delivering the baskets is priceless. And so is the participation of all the members who come out to make our Chrismas Day dinner possible. Join us to boost the holi-day spirit around the Lodge, and within your own family, this Decem-ber. It won’t just make an impact on our community, but it’ll also be rewarding to all involved. From my family to yours, wishing you all a very merry Christ-mas, happy holidays, and a healthy new year. May these next few weeks be filled with love, happiness, and laughter for each of you and your families. Fraternally yours,Robert Muoio [email protected] Ruler (203) 308-3149

Elk of the MonthThe Elk of the Month is Rich LoPresti. Rich stepped up to chair the Hoop Shoot Contest this year when we were in desperate need of someone to take the reigns. He did a great job advertising, drumming up participants, and running a successful event on our Lodge’s behalf. Thanks for your hard work and dedication, Rich!

Tip of the AntlersTip of the Antlers to Jen Musante & Jeff Hall for all their hard work with the Law/Foran Sportmanship Dinner. Also, to all the volun-teers who helped make the event a success. This night was a great exam-ple of the great works we do when everyone comes together as a team!

Tip of the Antlers to all those who donated a turkey, ham, or raffle basket for the Turkey Shoot and items for our upcoming Christmas raffles! Great job all!

Tip of the Antlers to Danette & Dan Contaras, Caitlin & Dave Williams, Lee Hill, and Sarah Muoio for all their hard work with the Thanksgiving Pre-Game Breakfast. This event has grown every year since it started 3 years ago and is a fun time that many people-look forward to each year!

Members, The holidays are fast upon us and two of the most wonderful and charitable events that the Lodge sponsors every year occur in Decem-ber. The holiday food basket project, in which we deliver boxes of food to members of our community the weekend before Christmas, and the Christmas Day dinner that we host for anyone in our community look-ing for hot food and fellowship on Christmas Day. I strongly encourage everyone to participate in one or both events. You won’t regret it. Details on both events are elsewhere in this month’s bulletin. Also, I’d like to remind everyone that in the month of December the Lodge reduces the fee for a Reinstatement to just $1.00. If you know of a former member who has dropped their membership, please contact them to encourage them to consider rejoining our fantastic organization. I’ve decided to restructure the Secretary’s message a bit to pro-vide more “at a glance” type information. I hope you like it. MEMBERS ALL,

We’re are now in the month of December, a very busy month at the lodge. Christmas baskets, members Christmas party, Christmas dinner and a New Years party. Please consider your support of these great events to continue their success.

We had the carpet in the lodge room cleaned and it looks great. Our final punch list with our contractor is getting smaller but still not complete, hopefully it will be this month. Our kitchen hood has been inspected and pasted for another year, this is required by fire inspector and health department and needed for our liquor license renewal in January.

The trustees will be working on repair of two of our existing cameras in the lodge and adding another 8 or 10 cameras between our lodge room hall upstairs and front and rear parking lots.

The trustees would like to wish all members and families, friends a very warm and Merry Christmas and Happy and safe New Year and the Lodge a very prosperous 2020!!

Any questions, comments or suggestions please speak to any of your Trustees.

Fraternally yours,Jeff Hall PERTrustee Chairman
