History of 2008 & 2007 “Stay Another Day” Booklets

• Approximately 65% repeat rate from 2007 to 2008.• Previously heavily donor-funded by both the IFC

and GTZ.• Initiatives paid only a fraction (about 1/5) of the

actual costs to manage, design, print and distribute the booklet.

Placed into the private sector for 2009-2010, initiatives paid over 50% more in price

for only 1/2 the space!

37 Initiatives in 2008• 27% increase in initiatives - even though price increased

by over 50% and space decreased by half.• 23 out of 37 initiatives repeated from 2008 (2 wished to

but missed the deadline) = 68% repeat rate!– In 2008, 65% repeated from 2007

• 28 new initiatives – over half are new.

Conclusion:“Stay Another Day” is a proven success and a truly sustainable tourism initiative

in Cambodia!
