6 Toki no Kane (Bell of Time)
This three-story wooden belfry, which has survived fire a number of times, is one of the iconic landmarks of the city of Kawagoe. The bell tower stands among charming warehouse-style buildings with clay walls, furnished with the artistic stylings of Edo architecture. The bell can be heard four times a day (6:00, 12:00, 15:00 and 18:00), its sound said to be among the sweetest you'll hear in Japan.

8 Kawagoe Matsuri
Held on the 3rd Saturday and Sunday of October, this dynamic festival features two-story floats painted with red and black lacquer and garnished with gold leaf. At the very top of the float is a doll that embodies the float's central theme. These floats are paraded around Kurazukuri Street with plenty of cheer, dance and song. Join the festivities and make merry the traditional Japanese way.

The oldest building in Kawagoe, Honmaru Goten is the only remaining structure of what once was Kawagoe Castle. It dates back to 1848 and during the Edo Period, it was used as the waiting room for visiting lords. Today, Honmaru Goten is open to the public. Its tatami rooms, garden and replicas of feudal lords invite people to experience what life during the Edo Period was like.

Kinchakuda Park gets its name from its shape, which resembles that of a traditional coin purse called 'kinchaku'.
