Welcome to DaDaFest 2006

1

Now in its sixth year, DaDaFest is the largest celebration of Disability and Deaf art in the UK, bringing together internationally-acclaimedprofessional artists, local home-grown talent, and up and coming young artists. In 2005 DaDaFest achieved the Mersey Tourism Awardfor Best Small Event 2005.

This year’s exciting program reflects Liverpool’s theme for 2006, ‘LiverpoolPerforms’. As in previous years we will be showcasing ground-breaking Deaf and disability arts; attracting national media attention and international performers.

For the first time we will be using venues in the Manchester area partnering with Manchester Arts organisations as well as Liverpool ones, and see this as key in raising the profile of Disability Arts regionally, nationally and internationally. We would like to thank our funders Arts Council England, Liverpool CultureCompany, and all the venues, sponsors and partners

Ruth Gould, NWDAF Director

I am so excited with this year’s program, there’s plenty of fantastic new acts and the festival has really grown. I hope you enjoy the varied and diverse line up.

Gemma Nash, Festival Organiser
