RPC cable status• Signal Cable delivery:

• About 40 km of cable already produced by tecknicabel company (barrel+endcap)

• Skew test ok• HV, LV, DCS cables and connectors ready:

• Sector 10 and 11 installed• Cable installation:

• Sector 10 and 11 fully cabled. Very useful excercise for future installation and prescriptions for production.

Cable Test• HV:

• cable tested without load, up to 15 KV by the company.• HV test after installation at 15 KV• One problem found on connector production now solved

• LV:• continuity test by the company• continuity and resistence measurement after installation with tester

• DCS: • continuity and inversion test by the company• continuity test after installation

• Tsens:• continuity and inversion test by the company• readout of the temperature to check continuity after installation

• SGN:• continuity and inversion test by the company• skew test done on cables of sector 10 and 11 W+2• future skew test will be done before installation• continuity test after installation:

Signal Cables at LB backplane

CABLE handlerAfter a first prototype producedwe descovered that it doesn’t integrate in a proper way with our needs

New simpler cable handler designed.All cables connected to the same LBin the same slit

Cables are finally fixed withCable ties.

Two cable handler have been mountedFor sector 10 and 11.

Conclusions• Cable installation started: sector 10 and 11 of wheel+2 ready

• procurement of signal cable is going on. Skew OK

• Production of other cables is going on:• sgn cable for W+2 ready at cern• HV, LV, DCS for wheel+2 expected after mid of february• sgn cabels for W+1 expected by end of february

• cable installation of other sectors of W+2 will start before the end of february

• HV connectors problem found:• new batch of HV connectors has been produced• problem solved

• we are producing a first prototype of the big HV multicable.• all the material is ready
