• Network Architecture / Management / Maintenance to all WPI networked buildings

VPN Services

• Allows Windows Domain drive mapping, access to on campus software licenses, and on campus only resources and download, SMTP email services for outbound email

• Client currently only available for Microsoft XP and 2000

• Will be incorporating a SSL solution in the near future for UNIX, LINUX and Mac Users


Wireless Network

• WPI has an 802.11 a/b/g security enabled solution

• Requires WPA with 802.1x authentication (Enterprise WPA) and MAC address registration

• Active monitoring and containment of unauthorized wireless networks / traffic flow

• Approximately 70% campus has wireless access• We are also involved with wireless and

networking projects throughout campus


Proxy and Terminal Services

• Terminal Services - offers off campus access to Windows environment and Computer Lab software (AutoCAD, MS Office, Visual Studio, MathCAD, Tech Plot Mat Lab, PK Solver)

• Proxy – used for off campus services requiring a source address of 130.215.x.x (Library Resources)
