Parole & Reform Many people say we need to change prisons

because they are too busy. Prisons do not help people to learn from their mistakes.

Some say parole is a good thing because it puts trust back in the prisoner. They are integrated back into society so they have a chance to show they have changed/ evolved. If they reoffend/ break the rules of parole they will be back in prison. Others say its not good because they should serve the full time they are given for the crime they have committed.

Christians mostly agree with r……… this aim is to change the criminals behaviour. Christians believe we should follow the teachings of Jesus on f…………… so it is better to help the criminal see what they have done wrong than try to get revenge on them. Should religious people support the death penalty?

Some Christians may support the death penalty because in their holy books it says things like ‘an eye for an eye’. Sometimes these religious believers may think the death penalty is needed.

Other Christians and Muslims would disagree and say we should never support the death penalty because ‘God gives life and only God can take it away’

Christians would say that an important commandment (rule) ‘Do not murder’. They might say that this is a clear instruction against the death penalty.
