ETHICS, SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY ARE IMPORTANT ISSUES FOR BUSINESS.

Today, the performance of organisations is assessed not only by earnings or share price, but also by their economic, cultural, social and environmental impacts.

In an age of social media, the behaviour of organisations is subject to constant scrutiny as never before and today’s consumers are more conscious than ever about social issues. Managers and leaders now need to be socially responsible and sustainability literate.

Our MSc in Social Responsibility and Sustainability combines a mix of academic and practical activities to give you a detailed knowledge and understanding of social responsibility and sustainability. It takes an interdisciplinary approach so that you can explore sustainability and social responsibility from multiple perspectives.

Our commitment to sustainability

Aston University has been recognised for its sustainability strategies with various awards including the Platinum Eco Campus Award.

We were one of the first business schools to become a signatory to the United Nations’ Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRiME), which aim to inspire and champion responsible education, research and thought leadership.

The MSc Social Responsibility and Sustainability programme reached the finals of the Green Gown Awards in 2014.

I chose Aston Business School because it was one of the few universities that offered the Social Responsibility and Sustainability course inside a business school.

“I think it is crucial to learn about CSR and sustainable development in the business context in order to understand how to gain competences within the management of businesses and learn how to apply them on important global social problems.”
