Main Image “star appeal” (Richard Dyer) kasabian fans will be interested in this magazine it almost looks like there singing to the readers .

Page numbers denotes certain topics for people to find what they want to read quickly that is why the numbers are bigger and bolder than the rest of the text.

They denotes the logo for NME with the red font against the black background.

The issue details the white writing on the black background denotes the issue of the month of the magazine .

Main title/subheadingPoints out main issues in the magazine and what will be featured in the magazine. That is why the subheadings are bold and main headings are white on a black background.

Band IndexThis clearly shows the reader what bands are featured in the magazine so makes them interested to find out about them.

Most of the time NME magazines cover stories and feature stories surround the main image which is in the middle of the page .

What I intend to “repeat”(Steve Neale 1980) from the contents page

• Sub lines-they are important to have because it informs the reader what features in the magazine and what it is about.

• The denotation of the main image is kasabian which connotes“ star appeal”(Richard Dyer).This is important because attracts a certain target audience who read the magazine.

• A busy page to show there is a lot of information in the magazine and how many music artists the they mention and different gigs they advertise.

Drop CapitalThis is used to instantly get the readers attention to read the article as it is as big as the main title.

Quote from interviewThe quote is in bold and stands out in because the font is white on a green background which suggest that the quote is an important part of the article as it stands out .it also has a picture below that link to the quote ..

Main titleThe title Carries on to the next page from the main image suggesting that this article is all about kasabian as kasabian is across the page in bold black letters almost making a statement.

LanguageThe language used it quite formal but still casual this is probably what appeals to the readers to keep buying it.

• The main image that covers the a4 page because it looks effective and shows what the story is about.

• A large drop capital to draw the reader straight in to read the article and find out about the music artist(s).

• A big bold title because it denotes the importance of the artists that is featured in the article and will draw the reader in to read the article.
