Introduction

During the month of August we celebrate the solemnity of the Assumptionof Our Lady, and the 450th Birth anniversary of our Patron St. Francisde Sales. The Assumption of our Lady reminds us that Mary was full ofgrace filled with the Spirit of God; was sinless that no corruption cantouch her. Mother Mary always lived in the presence of God. Evendeath could not separate her from Godís presence. Mother Mary didthe Will of God in her life and therefore she could be clothed with glory.Maryís obedience was amply rewarded. She said ëyesí to God and Godmade her great and raised her to eternal glory with body and soul.

On 21st August we celebrate the 450th birth anniversary of our patron. Itinvites all of us the MSFS to imbibe the spirit of St. Francis de Salesand instill in us a deep desire to learn and practice the virtues of ourpatron in our community and mission. The spirituality of St. Francis deSales is solidly based on love. For him everything is viewed in terms oflove. Love of God is the centre of oneís life.

St. Paul in Rom. 8/28-30, informs us that all things work for good forthose who love the Lord. Four things happen to the people who loveGod: they yearn to fulfill Godís plan for the world; they respond to thecall of God whole heartedly; they live a righteous life and finally theyare glorified by God. The journey is not over even after getting to knowthe will of God. One has to wholeheartedly respond to the inner calland live a righteous life. The glory that is reserved for such people isnot the goal or destination of this journey but rather the joy of lovingGod and discovering Godís love for oneself.

John Britto MuthuswamyHe will be installed as the 5th Provincial of theNagpur Province on 15th August 2017 at 10.00am during the Eucharist Celebration which willbe presided over by the Arch Bishop ofNagpur.
