2 IntroductionThis document describes the additional checking performed between different Radio Network managed objects and RNW configuration management parameters during operations targeted to RNW managed objects.

The RNW consistency check is a service provided by the RNC and performed during the download of the RNW plan. The same consistency rules apply to the configuration tasks carried out by by RNW Object Browser application in RNC Element Manager.

The parameter data in different RNW objects is compared to each other to check if the data is consistent according to the parameter relationship definitions.

During the RNW parameter modification, it is also checked that the parameter value is within the valid range. This parameter range check is performed before the consistency check, and thus it is not included in the consistency checking rules described in this doc-ument. For more information about the value ranges of the different RNW parameters, see WCDMA Radio Network Configuration Parameters.

For information on the functional areas of the radio network and related parameters, see the functional area descriptions in WCDMA RAN System Library.

Consistency checking rules are grouped according to managed objects in this docu-ment. Under the managed object, rules are arranged by the operation type and the rule identifier. For each rule there is a defined own unique identifier. The identifier consists of the managed object, the operation type and the number. The number is unique within the managed object and the operation type.

The rules are presented in the table layout. The following table presents the attributes for each rule and description of the attributes.

Entry Description

Checking rule identifier (ID) The unique identifier for the rule. The format is ‘ManagedObject_OperationType_FourDigitNumber’, for example, WBTS_C_0002. The following abbreviations are used for operation type:

– C (Creation)– CM (Creation and Modification)– M (Modification)– D (Deletion)– U (Unlock (valid for WCEL only))

RNW Managed Object type This attribute defines for which RNW managed object the rule is valid.

Operation type This attribute defines the operation for which the rule is valid and con-sistency check is performed.

Check description This attribute defines the actual checking performed during the oper-ation.

Error text This attribute defines the error text returned if the consistency check rule is not fulfilled.
