(1) Notice of the East Jamaica Conference 4th Quadrennial Session

Notice is hereby given that the Fourth Quadrennial Session of the East Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day

Adventists will be held at the Kencot Seventh-day Adventist Church 10-12 Osbourne Road, Kingston 5,

Jamaica, on Tuesday, July 15and Wednesday, July 16, 2014.

The opening ceremony will begin at 5:30p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. Registration will be at 8:00 a.m. to

12:00 noon, at the V.H. Percy Centre.

This Session is called to:

1. Receive reports from the Officers and Departmental Directors.

2. Elect Officers and Departmental Directors for the next Quadrennium.

3. Consider revisions and changes to the Conferences Constitution and Bylaws.

4. To transact any other business.

5. Team members we solicit a contribution from all of you to assist our missionaries to Belize.Little is much when God is in it. Imagine all of our churches contributing even J$500.00 per

church. This will help the missionaries with their dormitory contribution.

(6) Notices from the Health Ministries & Stewardship Department

1. Medical Missionary training will be held July 27- September 13, 2014. Cost $7,800.2. Health SummitAugust 14-17, 2014in Mandeville, under the theme, Protecting Your

Health. The main presenters will be Dr. Hansel Fletcher and Dr. Craig Jackson,

Professors at Loma Linda University, California.

3. Leadership & Professional Development SeminarSeptember 3-4, 2014. Please see websitefor details.

(7) Youth Ministries Department

1. SUMMER CAMP 2014: Its that time of year again when our children and youth are all

excited about Summer Camp. Based on the unavailability of Camp Don for August 5-12 2014,thecamp date has been moved to July 21-28. This means there will only be one camp, withage related activities. Closing date for all registration is June 30, 2014. Absolutely noapplication will be accepted after this date. Application forms can be collected at the office ofthe Youth Ministries Department or online at ejcsda.com. I take this opportunity to also remindyou that each church has been asked to sponsor at least one person to this much anticipatedevent. The cost for Camp is the same as last year-$6,000.00

2. INVESTITURE SERVICE- ZONE 4: You all invited to be a part of the Zone 4 InvestitureService for Master Guides to be held on Sabbath June 7, at the Morant bay Church in St.Thomas. Starting time 4:00pm. Come and meet our future youth leaders!!!

3. YOUTH CONGRESS-GUATEMALA 2014: All delegates to the Youth Congress inGuatemala are being asked to make final payment for their hotel accommodation to the JamaicaUnion NOW! Accommodation for triple occupancy rooms is US$550.00 per person for theduration. Double occupancy is US564.00.

4. BIBLE BOOM 2014:Its almost time for the play-offs to begin and Bible Boom promises tobe more inspiring, interesting and fun. The Books to be studied are Hosea-Micah. Every AYSmust be on board as we want our youth to become men and women of the WORD!!!

5. JAMU E-News:The Jamaica Union is still inviting youth to submit news items, testimonials,clean Christian jokes, stories, significant happenings in your area and other articles to the EJCYouth Department for inclusion in its upcoming E-Paper. Submission should be sent toejcyouth_dept@yahoo.com.

(8) Notice from the Sabbath School, Personal Ministries & Comm. Services Dpt.

1. EJC ACSF Executive Committee Meeting. All (Zones 13) members of the EJC

Adventist Community Services Federation (ACSF) Executive and Fun Day Planning

Committees are being requested to attend a very special meeting which will convene on

Monday, June 9, 2014@ 6: pm sharp, in the EJC Board Room.

2. (ACS) Extraordinary General Meeting for Disaster preparation. All Adventist

Community Services (ACS) Leaders, trained Shelter Managers and all those who are

volunteering to be trained (June 22& 29) are being asked to attend an extraordinary general

meeting at the EJC Board Room on Tuesday, June 10 @ 6. Pm. Leaders, please bring a list of

your disaster committee and your preparation and mitigation plans to meet the present

season.

3. Sabbath School Teachers (Adult Classes) corporate class sessions. Calling and reminding

all Sabbath School Teachers (Adult Classes) to attend the corporate class sessions which will

convene:

June, 14, 2014, 3:306:30 PM @ Morant Bay SDA (for zone four).

June 15, 2014,9:00 am to 2: PM. @ VHP Center (for all Zones). Special presentations:Volunteerism in Adventism by a British Mission Guest & our main presenter for the day will

be Dr. Gosnell Yorke (NCU) on The Use of Scripture and the Writings of Ellen G. White in

the Sabbath School Teaching program.

July 6, 9: am, 2014. @ VHP Center (for all Zones) Dr. Nicole MauzardNCU Presenter on Educational, Psychology, Adult Learning styles and Teaching Methods.

4. Good Samaritan Inn voluntary work days. In partnership with our British friends coming

on a mission trip to our Conference (June 13 to 23), special voluntary work days will be

staged at the Good Samaritan Inn on Sunday to Wednesday, June 15 to18. This project aimsto implement a special Barbering & Cosmetology male & female Grooming Center.

Volunteers (Skilled persons like carpenters, painters & general laborers), please preregister

with this department @ the EJC office or with Elder MurrayEJC projects coordinator, now

to June16, 2014.

1. The National Singles Convention is to be held August 23-24, 2014at Duncans, Trelawny.(Please click here for registration form)We invite those who are interested in attending toregister through the EJC Family Ministries Department. See upcoming events on the EJC

website for flyer. In the light of these activities the East Jamaica Conference will not behaving a Singles Convention for 2014. However, November 29, 2014 will be celebrated asSingles day within each church.
