(3) Notices from the Religious Liberty Department
A Religious Liberty newsletter will be launched in the month of October. The purpose of this organ is
to inform members of what is happening locally and abroad as far as civil and religious rights are
concerned and of course the impact that certain changes may have on the Seventh-day Adventist
Church.
Also, please bear in mind that shortly after the first quarter of 2014, there will be a Jamaica Union
Conference Religious Liberty Day. This religious liberty rally will include all 5 conferences. The
proposed venue is the national arena. We will update you as time goes by.
(4) Notices from the Spirit of Prophecy Department
We continue to encourage each church to read our spirit of prophecy books in a systematic way as we
need to guard well the avenues of the soul against the evils of these last days that we see all aroundus.
On Sabbath October 5 will be Spirit of Prophecy Day. Please make this day a special one. It would be
a fine gesture to have a graduation service or handing out of certificates to recognize all those who are
reading the said book(s).

Publishing Department
To pastors, elders, publishing coordinators and members
Christian greetings!
Let me use this opportunity to join the family life, and youth departments in congratulating our youth
who have done well at the recently held CSEC and CAPE examinations.
Also, for those who did not do so well, please do not give up, but continue to try!
Let me also wish all of our students who are returning to school in September, academic success and
Gods richest blessings.
During this summer some our students who are studying at the University of the West Indies and
Northern Caribbean University are currently involved in the Summer Literature Evangelist (Student
Colporteur) Program.
They will be conducting a grand book display at the Singles Convention which will be held at the Karram
Speid Auditorium at Merle Grove on Saturday August 24 at 6: 45 p.m.
Please ensure that you procure that special book that you need for your home library. You will also be
assisting the students in raising their tuition for school in September.
There are other upcoming displays scheduled for Saturday nights and I am kindly asking for the support
of the members to patronize them as they visit your church to do so.
Currently, Pastor Dudley Hosin, Jamaica Union Conference Publishing Director, is attending a crucial
meeting in Miami. The purpose of this meeting is to re-organize the Publishing Work and to bring itback to its former glory. He is soliciting your prayers that God will intervene for the betterment of thePublishing Work in this region.
