Once you arrive, your baby will be fed and sleepy, because you have followed the steps outlined in the Sleepy Baby Guide that Iwill send you once we confirm your session date and time. How the session will begin depends on how sleepy or alert

your baby is upon arrival. I will usually begin the session by taking portraits of your baby on a beanbag or in a basket wrappedup tight in one of many fabrics. Newborn sessions can last 2-4 hours, and is a great time for new parents to snuggle or nap!

Apart from necessary feedings and changing, the newborn session is a time for you to sit back and relax! The more relaxed you are, the more relaxed your baby is likely to be!

When we are finished shooting, you can go home, relax, and dream about all of the beautiful images that will soon be plastered all over your walls!

After I share your sneak peek image on Facebook, I will go through the rest of the images from your session and select the best from each set. Once I have the “final cut” images selected, I meticulously edit each one to soften skin, correct blemishes, and make the

images as perfect as your beautiful baby. In approximately three weeks, you will be invited back to the studio for your gallery premiere and ordering appointment, where you

will have the opportunity to purchase high quality prints, products and digital files. will have the opportunity to purchase high quality prints, products and digital files.

Breastfeeding moms: Please avoid common breastfeeding triggers 48 hours prior to your session. Common trigger foods include berries, oranges, lemons, pineapple, grapefriut, tomatoes, peanuts, pizza, spaghetti, spicy foods, caffeine, asparagus, onions, pickles, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts and cabbage. Every baby is different, so be sure to consult with your pediatrician with any questions.Formula babies: Please be prepared with several portions of formula. Babies will often eat more than usual during their newborn session.Pacifiers: Even if your baby is not typically a binkie-baby, a pacifier can be the difference between a 2 hour session and a 4 hour session. The short amount of time that they use one during the newborn session shouldn’t create nipple confusion.Sleepy Baby Guide: This will be sent once we confirm your official session date and time. Please follow the instructions closely, as properly prepped babies have an easier session than babies who aren’t prepped.Favorite images: Favorite images: If you’ve seen an image on my website that you would like to recreate, please let me know prior to your session. Props: The studio is loaded with props. Please don’t feel the need to bring anything to the session, but you are welcome to bring one or two special items or outfits.Clothing: It will be hot, hot, HOT in the studio. If you plan to do family pictures, please do not arrive in your picture clothing. Come to the studio in something lightweight, that won’t be worried if the baby soils it. For portrait attire, please bring simple clothing such as a black, white, tan or grey tank or tee. Please avoid patterns or characters on clothing.Hands: Your hands will be visible in parent shots. Please have nails cleaned and trimmed.Siblings: Siblings are welcome - but may not be able to sit for the entire time. Feel free to have a relative pick them up after sibling portraits. If siblings will stay, feel free to bring their favorite movie to watch.
