Confirmation Class PGO FESCO Shelter Shuffle San Leandro Marina

On May 2 Our Confirmation class will be participat-ing in the annual FESCO Shelter Shuffle Walka-thon. This is FESCO’s primary fundraising event of the year and success depends on the participation of the community - those who donate, walk, run, and shuffle – many with their dogs – around the paths at San Leandro’s Marina Park. Our Confirmation class will be outside of the church collecting donations for this event after all masses on Saturday, April 25th and Sunday, April 26th. You are also welcome to donate online by visiting : http://www.firstgiving.com/21524/18th-annual-fesco-shuffle, clicking on "Transfiguration Catholic Church", then hitting the green "DONATE" button! Thank you for all your support, and because of you, FESCO will continue to change lives and give families a place they can call home!

Your Prayers Are Requested for the Repose of the Souls of:

Daniel Gilson, Jr. Janice Paulo

LETTER FROM POPE FRANCIS THE “JOY OF THE GOSPEL” CONTINUED...

The Church’s Missionary Transformation—#77 As children of this age, though, all of us are in some way affected by the present globalized culture which, while offering us values and new possibilities, can also limit, condition and ultimately harm us. I am aware that we need to create spaces where pastoral workers can be helped and healed, “places where faith itself in the cruci-fied and risen Jesus is renewed, where the most profound questions and daily concerns are shared, where deeper discernment about our experiences and life itself is under-taken in the light of the Gospel, for the purpose of direct-ing individual and social decisions towards the good and beautiful”. At the same time, I would like to call attention to certain particular temptations which affect pastoral workers. Fr. Terry’s Remarks— When we make judgments about others we often forget that we too are hurt. We are also damaged by events in our lives and this powerfully affects our feelings and judgments about people and events. Have you noticed how you sometimes get very defensive over some events or angry over others? As Pope Francis reminds in today's passage, we all need time and space to heal and grow. Being more merciful and forgiving is not only good for the receiver, it is also very beneficial to the giver. The Easter season is a great time of grace for us, for we have vividly before the eyes of our faith the sufferings and death of Jesus followed by his wondrous appearances with and healing of the dis-tressed Apostles. Jesus is always our best model. Jesus is our best healer. Jesus shows everyone of us how to best relate to our brothers and sisters.
