In Genesis Abraham cares for the needs of three mysterious travelers. The psalm responds, celebrating the kind of righteousness that Abraham practices. Then, in his letter to the Colossians, Saint Paul describes his own ministry as almost like a delivery service: he, God’s steward, brings the word of God to their community. Finally, Luke’s Gospel shares the well-known story of Mary and Martha, and the different ways they welcome Jesus into their home. Amid all this coming and going, we are invited to pay attention to the ways we tend to the needs of others. Each of us can ask, How am I present to God and others in my life? Copyright © J. S. Dear Parishioners,

I am very happy to inform you that we have reached our goal in pledges for the

Annual Catholic Appeal. You have always been so dedicated and cooperative in the various

projects that have been presented to you. Thank you!

Once the pledges are redeemed, the money over our parish goal will be returned to us.

As you can see, the Fourth Avenue doors of the church are being sanded and treated to

withstand the elements and last year’s A.C.A. return is paying for the work.

There is still plenty of time to make a pledge or a gift. For every $100.00 that is paid by

December 8th, the donor will receive a chance for a TV (first prize) and a gift certificate for

Chadwick’s Restaurant worth $200.00 (2nd prize).

These gifts have been donated by generous parishioners to allow me to show my

gratitude to all who have helped our diocese and who have helped O.L.A.

Let’s pray for each other,

Msgr. Kevin B. Noone

Goal: $99,584.00 Pledged: $106,427.00 Paid: $94,250.58 Donors: 217

OPEN WIDE OUR HEARTS

In November 2018 the Catholic bishops of the United States released a Pastoral Letter Against Racism called, Open Wide Our Hearts. The letter is a powerful invitation for all the people of God to “face courageously the vice of racism,...reach out generously to the victims of this evil, to assist the conversion needed in those who still harbor racism, and to begin to change policies and structures that allow racism to persist.” At usccb.org/racism, you can read the entire letter, get new resources and find ideas for how we can respond.

SERVICIOS A LA COMUNIDAD

¡BIENVENIDOS A NUESTRA COMUNIDAD!

Hno. Vicente Martin
