Dear Parishioners,
Happy Easter to all of you! Today, the Second Sunday of Easter is also known as Divine Mercy Sunday,
on which we celebrate the depths of Christ’s mercy for all of us sinners. We can’t imagine, with our finite
minds, how much and how profound is Christ’s love for repentant sinners.
I am very grateful to my brother priests for their support during this health crisis. While being
housebound, like yourselves, the experience has been very positive for us as a community of diocesan priests.
Many of you have been following the daily liturgies, and certainly those of Holy Week, due to the
technical skills of Fathers Espinal and Samy with the assistance of Nelson Caraballo, our sacristan. The
numbers of those who clicked on has been staggering and I know I speak for you as well as myself when I
congratulate them for providing these prayerful interludes during the pandemic.
I am also very grateful to those of you who have faithfully mailed your envelopes and Easter gifts or
placed them in the rectory vestibule mailbox. Others, also, have used the form of online giving. I can’t tell you
how your fidelity to the parish, as well as your generosity, has been such a source of encouragement and how it
has provided a sense of closeness even though we are temporarily separated.
I close this letter with the assurance that all of you are uppermost in our prayers at mass and when we
pray the Divine Office. We priests know that you pray for us, also, and we joyfully anticipate the day when our
church doors will be open and we can pray together and receive holy communion.
Let’s pray for each other
Msgr. Kevin B. Noone
P.S. We will continue being available for the sacrament of reconciliation in the schoolyard/parking lot on
Saturdays from 11:00am to12:00pm and from 3:30pm to 4:45pm as long as the church must remain closed.
Enter from the 73rd Street side and you’ll find us as we maintain social distancing.

Pope Francis’ Coronavirus Prayer
O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey
as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the Cross were near to the pain of Jesus,
keeping your faith firm. You, Salvation of the Roman People,
know what we need, and trust that you will provide for those needs so that, as at Cana of Galilee,
joy and celebration may return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love,
to conform ourselves to the will of the Father and to do what Jesus tells us,
He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and took up our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross,
to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection,
O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test –
and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.
