Welcome to Christ Church! We are delighted that you are

worshipping with us. All baptized persons of every denomination are

welcome to receive communion at our altar. Please introduce

yourself to one of our greeters. Please let an usher know if you are

unable to come to the railing for Communion and the clergy will

come to you.

Are you looking for a church home? You are welcome to fill out a

pew card and place it in the offering plate. On it you can indicate

that you would like the clergy to call on you.

We would love to meet with you at coffee hour after the 10:00 AM

service. We meet in the Deppich Room. Go through the Red Doors

in the right rear of the sanctuary, through the small lobby and turn

left at the first door.

Coffee Hour Donations. Summertime is here so we are asking for

volunteers to sign up to cover a Sunday coffee hour in July, August

and on September 1st. A sign up sheet is located on the table at the

water cooler. Suggested items include fruit, bagels, muffins, cookies,

donuts, pastries or baked goods. Lemonade and ice tea will be

provided by the Church. Any questions, please see Elizabeth

Rasnake.

Out of respect for neighbors wishing for quiet time to pray before

the liturgy begins, please use your “inside voice” in the nave.

The Altar Flowers are given today in loving memory of Tom Fries,

by Ron Cirillo and the Fries family.

If you would like a loved one memorialized with Altar flowers,

please contact Janice Kordowski at 610-731-5252 for information.

As a reminder: If you get chilly in church this summer, please bring

a sweater or jacket. The air conditioning does not reach the

chancel, and the most heavily-dressed people are all up there!

HELP NEEDED!!! Weeders are desperately needed. Elizabeth &

Roy Rasnake, Nancy & Ken Mobley, Sue Dowling, and Judy Yorke

can’t do it all! Just come with a bag, gloves, a trowel and pick a

spot, any time! Bring your friends and family—many hands make

light work.

Celebrant God be with you.

Celebrant Let us pray.

O Lord, mercifully receive the prayers of your people who call upon

The Lessons

FIRST READING: Deuteronomy 30:9-14

The people sit.

A Reading from the book of Deuteronomy.

[Moses said to the people of Israel,] 9“The LORD your God will make

you abundantly prosperous in all your undertakings, in the fruit of your

body, in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your soil. For the

LORD will again take delight in prospering you, just as he delighted in

prospering your ancestors, 10when you obey the LORD your God by

observing his commandments and decrees that are written in this book of

the law, because you turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and

with all your soul.

11Surely, this commandment that I am commanding you today is not

too hard for you, nor is it too far away. 12It is not in heaven, that you

should say, ‘Who will go up to heaven for us, and get it for us so that we

may hear it and observe it?’ 13Neither is it beyond the sea, that you

should say, ‘Who will cross to the other side of the sea for us, and get it

for us so that we may hear it and observe it?’ 14No, the word is very near

to you; it is in your mouth and in your heart for you to observe.”

Reader The Word of the Lord.

People Thanks be to God.

PSALM: Psalm 25:1-9

1To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul;

my God, I put my trust in you; *

let me not be humiliated,

nor let my enemies triumph over me.

2Let none who look to you be put to shame; *

let the treacherous be disappointed in their schemes.

3Show me your ways, O LORD, *

and teach me your paths.

4Lead me in your truth and teach me, *

for you are the God of my salvation;

in you have I trusted all the day long.

5Remember, O LORD, your compassion and love, *

for they are from everlasting.

6Remember not the sins of my youth and my transgressions; *

remember me according to your love

and for the sake of your goodness, O LORD.

7Gracious and upright is the LORD; *

therefore he teaches sinners in his way.

8He guides the humble in doing right *

and teaches his way to the lowly.

9All the paths of the LORD are love and faithfulness *

to those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.

SECOND READING: Colossians 1:1-14

The people sit.

A Reading from Paul's letter to the Church in Colossus.

1Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our

brother,

2To the saints and faithful brothers and sisters in Christ in Colossae:

Grace to you and peace from God our Father.

3In our prayers for you we always thank God, the Father of our Lord

Jesus Christ, 4for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the

love that you have for all the saints, 5because of the hope laid up for you

in heaven. You have heard of this hope before in the word of the truth,

the gospel 6that has come to you. Just as it is bearing fruit and growing in

the whole world, so it has been bearing fruit among yourselves from the

day you heard it and truly comprehended the grace of God. 7This you

learned from Epaphras, our beloved fellow servant. He is a faithful

minister of Christ on your behalf, 8and he has made known to us your

love in the Spirit.

9For this reason, since the day we heard it, we have not ceased praying

for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of God’s

will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10so that you may lead

lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every

good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God. 11May you be

made strong with all the strength that comes from his glorious power,

and may you be prepared to endure everything with patience, while

joyfully 12giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in

the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13He has rescued us from the

power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved

Son, 14in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

25Just then a lawyer stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he said, “what

must I do to inherit eternal life?” 26He said to him, “What is written in the

law? What do you read there?” 27He answered, “You shall love the Lord

your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your

strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” 28And

he said to him, “You have given the right answer; do this, and you will

live.”

29But wanting to justify himself, he asked Jesus, “And who is my

neighbor?” 30Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to

Jericho, and fell into the hands of robbers, who stripped him, beat him,

and went away, leaving him half dead. 31Now by chance a priest was

going down that road; and when he saw him, he passed by on the other

side. 32So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him,

passed by on the other side. 33But a Samaritan while traveling came near

him; and when he saw him, he was moved with pity. 34He went to him

and bandaged his wounds, having poured oil and wine on them. Then he

put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35The next day he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and

said, ‘Take care of him; and when I come back, I will repay you

whatever more you spend.’ 36Which of these three, do you think, was a

neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?” 37He said,

“The one who showed him mercy.” Jesus said to him, “Go and do

likewise.”

PROPER PREFACE

Facing the Holy Table, the Celebrant proceeds

It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give

thanks to you, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.

For you are the source of light and life; you made us in your image, and

called us to new life in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Therefore we praise you, joining our voices with Angels and Archangels

and with all the company of heaven, who for ever sing this hymn to

proclaim the glory of your Name:

The Celebrant continues

We give thanks to you, O God, for the goodness and love which you

have made known to us in creation; in the calling of Israel to be your

people; in your Word spoken through the prophets; and above all in the

Word made flesh, Jesus, your Son. For in these last days you sent him to

be incarnate from the Virgin Mary, to be the Savior and Redeemer of the

world. In him, you have delivered us from evil, and made us worthy to

stand before you. In him, you have brought us out of error into truth, out

of sin into righteousness, out of death into life.

On the night before he died for us, our Lord Jesus Christ took bread; and

when he had given thanks to you, he broke it, and gave it to his disciples,

and said, “Take, eat: This is my Body, which is given for you. Do this for

the remembrance of me.”

After supper he took the cup of wine; and when he had given thanks, he

gave it to them, and said, “Drink this, all of you: This is my Blood of the

new Covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of

sins. Whenever you drink it, do this for the remembrance of me.”

Therefore, according to his command, O Father,

Celebrant and People

We remember his death,

We proclaim his resurrection,

We await his coming in glory;

The Celebrant continues

And we offer our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving to you, O Lord of

all; presenting to you, from your creation, this bread and this wine.

We pray you, gracious God, to send your Holy Spirit upon these gifts

that they may be the Sacrament of the Body of Christ and his Blood of

the new Covenant. Unite us to your Son in his sacrifice, that we may be

acceptable through him, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit. In the

fullness of time, put all things in subjection under your Christ, and bring

us to that heavenly country where, with all your saints, we may enter the

everlasting heritage of your sons and daughters; through Jesus Christ our

Lord, the firstborn of all creation, the head of the Church, and the author

of our salvation.

By him, and with him, and in him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit all

honor and glory is yours, Almighty Father, now and for ever. AMEN.

THE LORD’S PRAYER

And now as our Savior Christ has taught us, we are bold to say,

People and Celebrant

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy Name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory,

forever and ever. Amen.
