LETTER FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Have you noticed the new businesses that have opened in Chilton County over the last two years? Just start at Exit 205 and drive north

on Highway 31, and you will see Boomerangs, APCO Employees Credit Union, The Computer Doctor, Tropical Bounzers, Elwood Staffing, This Is Bliss Therapeutic Massage, Strings & Things Music Company, Dixie Wheel & Tire and Dollar General, just to name a few. When you get to the north end of the county, look for Jemison Wedding Chapel, Hidden Meadow Vineyard and Mid-South

Fabrications as well as others.

What does this mean? It’s probably too early to make this call, but maybe our county is pulling out of the recession. Maybe these new start-up businesses, coupled with the expansion we are hearing about from local manufacturers, and the growth we are experiencing since the last census signal good news for our market.

Let’s believe that better economic days are just ahead!Mike RobertsonExecutive Director
