WELCOMEDEAR CCM PATRONS,

WELCOME to the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music’s 2013-14 performance season. The beginning of a new academic year is full of excitement for all of us on campus. Although several months have passed since our season ended last April, I hope that you were one of the lucky people who packed Corbett Auditorium in July for CCM’s newest

collaborative partnership with the World Piano Competition and the world renowned Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra — it was nothing short of thrilling!

CCM continues to expand its brand as a premiere performing and media arts institution, attracting students to UC from 39 different countries and 47 states to study in the second-to-none CCM Village.

We also continue to provide more performances than any other venue in the State of Ohio (and many of these performances are free!). Whether you wish to attend CCM’s international film festival, Mainstage or Concert Series presentations, student and faculty recitals, or guest lectures and master classes, CCM’s fall schedule is just another testament to why the University of Cincinnati continues to be the #HottestCollegeInAmerica.

I revel in the variety and incredible quality of CCM’s performance offerings, and look forward to greeting you as we join each other in CCM’s many performance venues to hear the stars of tomorrow!

Peter Landgren, Dean Thomas James Kelly Professor of Music

Lyrics by Arthur Freed Book by Betty Comden and Adolph Green Diane Lala, directorRoger Grodsky, musical directorPatti James and Diane Lala, choreographersOne of the most-loved and celebrated MGM film musicals, Singin’ in the Rain comes to the CCM stage in a joyous, graceful and thoroughly enjoyable adaptation. Set in 1927, the musical satirizes the panic surrounding the transition from the “Silents” to the “Talkies” as the revolution in sound sweeps through the Hollywood dream factory. With great songs, lots of flashbacks and buckets upon buckets of rain, this musical promises to shower audiences with good old-fashioned entertainment. The glorious score includes such standards as “Good Morning,” “Make ‘em Laugh,” “You Are My Lucky Star” and the legendary “Singin’ in the Rain.”Location: Corbett AuditoriumTickets: $31-35 adults, $20-24 non-UC students, $18-22 UC students.
