What happened ?• Caryl Jones ordered an iced tea at the drive-thru of
the McDonald’s.
• But that’s not what she got !!

• She took a sip, it burned her mouth and she spit it out.
• What Jones got was another sort of “T”.

• Triazinetrione - Dichloro-s-Triazinetrione Dihydrate, to be exact - better known as “McD Sanitizer”.
• A kitchen cleaning chemical !!

• Jones then inquired the people on the front-line.

Step to court…• The customer then filed a lawsuit.
• In the suit filed, she seeked $100,000 on counts of negligence and breach of warranty.

Aftermath• Franchise owner Cynthia Brown declined to
comment on the pending litigation.
• She said: “Nothing is more important to me than the well-being of my customers, we take this matter seriously.”

• During investigation it was found that the chemical was a skin irritant and swallowing it could result in mucosal damage.
• Hence, the case was resolved after handling the agreed sum of money to Jones.
