The Centre reviews the academic objectives at regular intervals with experts invited

The Centre has conducted a number of extension activities like Mushroom

cultivation to select group of farmers from all over Tamilnadu. Dr. V. Kaviyarasan is

spearheding the extension activity with support from his research scholars and other

supporting staff.

Frequent seminars and group discussion are being arranged within the student

community on recent advancements made in Life Sciences especially in Botany.

the area of diversity of algae in India.

iii. Prof. S. S. Gnanamanickam, has contributed to the molecular identification of

plant pathogenic bacteria with respect to Rice blast disease.

iv. Prof. R. Rengasamy has contributed in the field of biofuel from micro algae.

v. Prof. N. Raaman has developed a herbal drug for the treatment of Swine Flu

Virus.
