1. Application Overview
What is it? The CSPR Files module allows users to generate the CSPR files containing the Career and Technical Education data submitted to the Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE) as part of the EDFacts initiative through the Education Data Exchange Network (EDEN).
How will it help? This module automates the creation of the CSPR files that would otherwise have to be calculated and created manually.
Why do I need this? The annual submission of certain Career and Technical Education enrollment data fulfills statutory requirements of the Perkins law that provides funding for Career and Technical Education programs.

2. Application PermissionsThis application is available only to State level Career and Technical Education personnel designated as Administrators in the Career Tech application. Staff in the following Active Directory group(s) will have access to the Administration module of the Career Tech application:

4. How do I get started?Go to the main ALSDE website (www.ALSDE.edu) and click the “Application Login” link.
A page will display the available application portals. Select the “ALSDE Identity Management (AIM)” option.
The AIM Login page will be displayed. In order to access the CSPR Files in the Career Tech application you must have login permission in AIM.

Once you have an account created and have been approved for access you will need to login. After you have successfully logged into AIM you will see the Career and Technical Education application tile in your application list on the AIM tiles page. Your application tiles page will look similar to the image below (tiles visible to each individual will vary according to assigned roles and responsibilities).
Select the Career and Technical Education tile to enter the application. The main menu page of the Career and Technical Education application will be displayed. The menu options displayed inside the application will be different for each user depending on the roles fulfilled in the local System or at the State Department. The image below is typically what State level Career Tech personnel with Administrator access will see.

Select the Administration menu option. The application will display the Administration menu options.
Select the CSPR Files menu option. The application will display the CSPR File Generation page.

Use the “CSPR File” dropdown to select the file that you would like to generate and submit through ADEN.

Once a file is selected, click the “Generate File” button. This will begin the generation process and you will see a visual indicator that the file is being generated.
When the file generation is complete the “Generated Files” list will be updated to reflect that fact.
Repeat this process for each file that you would like to submit through ADEN.
When all files have been generated you should return to the AIM tiles menu and select the ADEN tile to complete the submission of CSPR files.

Once in the ADEN application, select the School Year and the Data File you wish to view.
Next, select the Data File Version.

And finally, click the “View File” button.
The selected file, along with available status information will be displayed.
