tips on two unsolved homi-cides.

Susan Furr, 61, was foundshortly after 10 p.m. July 24 inher South Toledo home in the1200 block of Gordon Street.An autopsy report deter-mined Ms. Furr suffered

blunt-force injuries to herhead, neck, and torso.

Ronnie Hopings, 39, waskilled March 16 outside hisWest Toledo residence. Hewas was shot at least threetimes in the 2000 block ofWellesley Drive.

Those with information are

asked to call the Crime Stop-per program. Callers may re-main anonymous and couldbe eligible for a reward.

A Wood County judge onFriday revoked bond for a Per-rysburg Township womanawaiting sentencing for start-ing a fire at a PerrysburgHeights home after she was ar-rested on three new charges.

Destiny Rodriguez,18, was charged Wed-nesday with aggra-vated burglary and as-sault by PerrysburgTownship police aftershe allegedly entered acamper trailer at therear of a Harold Streethome without permis-sion, and assaulted thehomeowner by pulling herhair. Det. Dustin Glass said po-lice arrested Rodriguez a shorttime later after finding her hid-ing under some equipment inthe backyard of a Wilson Streethome.

On Thursday when Rodri-guez was transported from theWood County jail to Perrys-burg Municipal Court for ar-

raignment, she said she was illand was taken to the nearbyMercy emergency room.There, the detective said, Ro-driguez allegedly ran off butwas caught after a short footpursuit.

Rodriguez, who was chargedwith escape, had beenfree on bond afterpleading guilty Feb. 2 toarson and felonious as-sault in Wood CountyCommon Pleas Court.She admitted to startinga fire Oct. 20 at thehome of Robert andConnie Brown whilethey were inside.

Judge Robert Pollex revokedher bond at the request ofprosecutors.

According to PerrysburgMunicipal Court records, Ro-driguez is to be arraigned onthe new charges at 9:30 a.m.Tuesday. She is scheduled forsentencing in Wood County onthe original charges at 1 p.m.Tuesday.

Bond set at$500,000in stalking,arson case

MONROE — A judge setbond at $500,000 for an 18-year-old Monroe Townshipman facing multiplecharges.

Matthew Wills was ar-raigned Thursday in 1st Dis-trict Court on charges ofhome invasion, arson, andaggravated stalking, accord-ing to the Monroe CountySheriff’s Office.

Deputies respondedabout 8:20 p.m. Tuesday toa home in the 4200 block ofKane Road in Exeter Town-ship. Mr. Wills violated aprotection order and threat-ened a woman inside, thesheriff’s office said.

Mr. Wills reportedlybroke into the garage, andpoured gasoline on himselfand the front door of theresidence, authorities said.

He was detained onscene and remained incar-cerated as of Friday after-noon.

Drugs seized, 2 arrested in Hancock Co. traffic stopFINDLAY — State troopers

seized an estimated $14,000 indrugs during a traffic stop inHancock County.

A speeding vehicle wasstopped on southbound I-75near Findlay at 12:33 a.m.

Thursday. A K-9 from the sher-iff's office alerted law enforce-ment to the vehicle, accordingto the Ohio Highway Patrol.

The ensuing search discov-ered 79 grams — just underthree ounces — of heroin, 378

Xanax pills, and five grams ofmarijuana, troopers said.

Authorities arrested DewaneLively, 25, and Joseph Thomp-son, 26, both of Detroit, andcharged them with possessionof heroin.
