Beginning Jan. 1, 2014, the health department will no longer offer walk-in immunizations in its Fort Collins and Loveland offices. Immunizations will be given by appointment only. The Board of County Commis- sioners approved a rate increase for the disposal of rubble materials at the Larimer County Solid Waste Department Landfill. The new rate for disposal of rub- ble, asphalt, asphalt shingles, tree trunks, concrete, dirt and sludge will be $8.65 per cubic yard, a $2 per cubic yard increase from 2013 rates. The new state surcharge will result in a total cost of $8.95 per cubic yard for disposal of the above listed items. The new rates will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2014. The Colorado state surcharges will also increase two cents per cubic yard for all waste types. Trees must be “cleaned up” before being dropped off — all lights, tinsel, garland, plastic wrap, tree stands, wire, rope, nails, and any other foreign materials must be removed from the trees before recycling. Flocked trees (those decorated with fake snow) cannot be recycled. Also accepted for re- cycling all year round are wrapping paper, packaging paper and greet- ing cards.
