SERVICE FOR THE LORD’S DAY JULY 15, 201215th Sunday in Ordinary Time 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary

Welcome

Call to Worship: Psalm 75:1

*Hymn: Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing #356

Prayer of Confession: Holy God, we confess that we do not always want to hear what You have to say. We are quick to rebuke or judge, and we are easily offended. We withhold the comfort You have given us in our afflictions when You prompt us to comfort others in theirs. We fail to believe in Your promises, and we trust in our own wisdom rather than in Yours. Forgive us, Father, and help us to follow You, for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Presentation of our Gifts

Offertory: Lily of the Valley by William S. Hays arr. by Michael T. SmithSoloist: Joanne Robinson Whitaker

I have found a friend in Jesus, He’s everything to me,He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

The lily of the valley in Him alone I see all I need to cleanse and make me fully whole; In sorrow He’s my comfort, in trouble He’s my stay,

He tells me all my cares on Him to roll,He’s the Lily of the valley, the bright and morning star.

He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul!

*Doxology and Prayer of Dedication Praise God, from whom all blessings flow, Praise Him, all creatures here below, Praise Him above, ye heavenly host, Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

*Affirmation of Faith: The Apostles‘ Creed Hymnal, Page 14 I believe in God, the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth and in Jesus Christ, His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.

Concerns and Prayers of Our Church Family

For Thine is the kingdom, and power, and glory, forever.
