I have over 25 years’ experience in the building, construction and design delivery, managing and working on a wide va-riety of project types from conceptual design through to final handover. I have been involved in the successful delivery of projects in the UK, Thailand, UAE and Iraq; In the last 6 years I have been working with Bim (building information modelling), implementing and managing the delivery and co-ordination of multidisciplinary design teams utilizing Au-todesk Revit and Navisworks. The L2-Pool Vila 260 SqmIs the sow house for a 24 villa development conceived to blur the boundaries between internal and external space comprised of three main volumes form the property the up-per has four double bedroom and over sales the outside kitchen , the lower has a living dinning , kitchen .shower room and utility room a separate guest suite with Balinese style outdoor bathroom completes the dwelling . The upper level facies the direction of the prevailing wind cooling the bedrooms in all but the hottest of months. The contemporary design incorporates a more traditional vernacular of Thai design having the living and cooking space under the dwelling and elevated sleeping plus a shaded terrace adjacent to the mater bedroom.

Mount View Villas SP-2 VillaOne of the excepted concepts for the dwellings types on a hill side green field development.ThebriefwastokeepthevernacularoftheL2-Villabutkeptasasinglestory volume splitting the villa on by level to facilitate view over the sleep-ing area to the countryside beyond, a green roof was introduced along with operable timber shading. A battered slope to the landscape grounded the contemporary villa in its topical surroundings

The Vineyard Phase II & III

Winner of the Thialand property awards40 villa development on a 12.2 acre green field site, introduce sustainable and lean design to the construction. Master plan, 6 different villa types, club house were de-veloped to detail design stage utilizing Autodesk Revit Architecture 2011, scheduling of materials for estimating, renderings, visualizations and daylight analysis were also produced.

TheAlZeinaprojectlocatedAlRahaBeach,AbuDhabi,UAE,consists of a 334,000sqm gated community with a gross built up areaof747,583sqm.Thisincludes1,221luxuryvillas,townhous-es and apartments ranging from studios to 6 bedroom duplexes. In addition 7,313sqm of street front retail units and parking for 2,748vehiclesisprovided.Thedevelopmentisdividedinto7precincts,AtoGincorporating18buildings,rangingfromBasement+5andBasement+15,utilisinganRCstructurewith post tensioned slabs together with 27 slip form cores all ris-ing simultaneously.AstheArchitectsofrecord,PFConsecoundertookthedetaildesign together with all necessary statutory submissions and approvals. The majority of the design documentation was pro-ducedutilizingAutoCAD.Asamulti-disciplinarydesigncon-sultancy, over10.000 drawings were required and the need for co-ordination from the outset was imperative. There were no project standards, templates or system in place, therefore every-thing was set up from scratch including; naming conventions, files,storage,emailstructure,folderstructure,CADstandardsand protocols. These were all initiated at the outset to give all disciplines the same project information in a central depository. Supporting documentation, updated from information sent in from other drawings, offices and ourselves with the latest itera-tion of the design, was Xreferenced into sheet drawings. This overall structure now forms the project standards for PF in the Middle East.

Al Zeina Residential Project, Al Raha Beach, Abu DhabiModularizationOver 5000 modularized bathroom pods wereusedonAlZeinaprojectbutwithnumerous iterations of the same type. By simply stacking the apartment types, one on top of the other, would have reduced the number of types considerably. This simple rational is incorporated in this study.

Modulated pods are constructed from a light steel gauge stud supported on a 100mmRCbase.Amaximumtrans-portable size has set the parameters from which to start creating a simple ‘fam-ily type’. Utilising these set parameters, denoting the types and usage the draw-ings of one apartment type was popu-lated, providing a precise layout for the interiorwalltoabut.Co-ordinatingtheservice risers to create the plumbing lay-outs for the pods together with linking inserted Revit MEP drawings gave the necessary penetrations. Integrating slab depressionsintothePTslabkeptthescreed depth to the normal minimum thickness.Creatingamassingzonetorepresentthepod installation path facilitated clash de-tection with the proposed paths. Then by populating the model floor by floor has provided quantifiable information for scheduling. Further consideration has been given to the use of MEP cassette serving both vertical and horizontal ser-vices.
