PARENTS NEEDED - • Senior Breakfast (prior to graduation practice on May 26th at 9am). Volunteers
will help serve breakfast and clean up. Donations are needed to help with cost of the Breakfast can be left in the office or mailed to Suzanne Short at 23 Scogin Dr, Greenville SC 29615, ANY amount is appreciated.
• Kiss a Senior Goodbye- help with the sale of Hersey kiss baggies to recognize seniors last week of school (Kiss a Senior Goodbye Chair – Susan Key –[email protected])
PTSA is in need of a few parents to help sell ‘Kiss a Senior Good-Bye’ bags at lunch the week of May 15-19 from 11:15 am - 1 pm. Please let me know if you can help.

JL Mann AAAAA Soccer State Title Games Saturday, May 13th was and exciting day for JL Mann soccer! Both the Boys and Girls teams played Wondo High for State Titles. Girls Won, 2 to 1 however the Boys were defeated by the top-ranked team in the country, 1-0.
Congratulations to both girls and boys teams for a VERY fun & successful season!
The Boys' Varsity Golf Team are the 2017 5A Region 1 Champions, winning the Region Tournament at Legacy Pines Golf club on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 Ian Faulconer and Michael Polgar were selected to the 5A Region 1 All-Region Team.

ART NEWS NATIONAL ART HONORS SOCIETY MEMBERS: Our annual celebratory dinner is MONDAY, May 15. Active members who have performed the required service hours will receive invitations. Seniors who have all of their hours and didn’t receive their cords at Senior Showcase or the dinner may see Ms. Webster in room 316 for their cord.

GCSD’s Annual Student Art Exhibition was at Artisphere - and included works from students in grades 9-12 enrolled in GCSD high school visual arts courses. J.L. Mann art students whose work is included in the show: Cooper Bodeo-Lomicky, Katelyn Bonesso, Manuela Cano, Malachi Coleman, Emma Epps, Jacob Faires, Courtney Fuller, Hannah Garity, Lyn Horton, Jordan Houle, Kara Josephson, Rachel Myers, Addie Pedrick, Brady Rider, Carly Rucker, Kaitlin Sebring, Cooper Shaw, Sarah Simmons, Ellis Turner, Melissa Vasquez, Baker Ward, Kennedy Wright.
The first annual PAT (Progress and Achievement in Theatre) Awards will be held Friday, May 19 at 7:00 pm in the auditorium. There are several award categories and nominations have gone out. The awards are modeled after the Tony and Oscar Awards. Attire is Sunday best. Cost is $5.00 per family. If you'd like to attend, please RSVP to Mr. Spearman at [email protected]. We will also be announcing the selection for the 2017 - 2018 musical!

Contest Winner – We would like to extend a huge congratulation to our
own Vivian Schmotzer. Her video entry was selected as the winner of the WasteLAB 2016-2107 High School Viral Video contest. WasteLAB is Greater Greenville Sanitation's mobile and interactive experience designed to advance sustainability through education. Vivian’s video, which you can watch via the link below concerns clothing waste and how it can be curved. Vivian and others submitted their entry to the contest for extra credit towards their recent project in Environmental Studies related to impacting waste. http://www.gowastelab.com/
Six Flags Education Day Success – We had a real blast at the annual Six Flags Education Day. Students had a great day and, along with riding many great rides, took in workshops and activities surrounding physics, math, and science.
