Washington

Students Fill Stage Area With Plastic Grocery Bags For

Recycling

Washington Elementary students celebrated Earth Day 2016 with a month-long collection of plastic grocery bags for recycling.

The number of bags brought in by students filled the Washington stage and the collection was unveiled to the students on Earth Day, where they learned about why it’s important to recycle as many items as possible.

The students in Mrs. Williams’ Fourth Grade classroom helped to stuff the bags into her mini-van, and she drove the bags to Giant Eagle, where they will be given to a group that will recycle them into building materials.
