Kids were super excited about showing off their talents! We are all looking forward to the big night! The weather is calling for rain for much of this week. Just a reminder for students to continue to have indoor shoes. We are finding lots of mud trails in our classrooms, library and computer lab. Please help keep our school clean by keeping the mud outside. Grade 2A Science Inquiry Showcase Thank you to the following families who donated birthday books to the library: Ms Buksner’s Grade 2 class is very excited to showcase their learning from their Simple Machines & Movement science inquiry unit. Students will be demonstrating the use of their compound gadgets that they created as well as playing their Lego Movie about their gadget. The showcase will take place in the Library on Wednesday, April 15th during Periods 5 (1:35-2:15pm) & 6 (2:35-3:15pm). All are welcome!

Math Awareness Month – April 2015 Math Awareness Month (MAM) is to increase public awareness and understanding of mathematics. This year’s theme is Math Drives Careers. New advances in mathematics propel innovations and careers. Look for math activities in the school throughout this month!

MADD presentation: April 17th On Friday, April 17 from 9:00 to 10:00, in the big gym, the grades 7 and 8 will be participating in workshop presented by MADD Canada. The workshop is called Aftermath, which reviews the perils of drinking and driving. Although our students aren't driving it begins the process of consequences associated with drinking. School Climate Survey for Parents of Grade 7-12 only:

Background

Section 169.1 (2.1) of the Education Act and Policy/Program Memorandum (PPM) 145, Progressive Discipline and Promoting Positive Student Behaviour, require boards to conduct anonymous school climate surveys of students, staff, and parents at least once every two years.

Board-Wide Implementation Plan

Between March and June 2015, Grades 7-12 students will complete the TDSB’s online Student School Climate Survey. During this time, schools will invite parents/guardians/caregivers and all school staff to complete the TDSB’s online School Climate Surveys for parents and staff.
