Tens of thousands gather to talk, learn and act in the mobile communications revolution that is driving the world’s major technology breakthroughs. From wearable devices to connected cars and homes, mobile technology is at the epicenter of worldwide innovation. We have a booth at the conference and we will be sending out more information from the conference next week. We are thrilled to network about the possibilities of beacons. We are also looking forward to hearing from keynotes such as Jimmy Wales of wikipedia, Bill Mcdermott of SAP, Charles Scharf, CEO, Visa and many more. It will be an excellent conference.

Kew Gardens has created the Discover Kew mobile application with 50 beacons placed across 500 hectares in Ardingly, UK - allowing visitors to take part in activities and receive information. It will be in the botanical gardens and will share info on some of their rarest and prettiest plants. After a 3 month test, they will evaluate whether to place the beacons in other outdoor areas. We expect the results to be positive.According to Interpretation producer Astrid Krumins,“You can meet eight of our fabulous North American trees exploring their stunning bark and uncover some of Kew’s science stories behind these trees. There’s something for everyone whether you crave facts about the species or enjoy hands-on challenges.”http://www.midsussextimes.co.uk/news/local/app-to-help-explore-mid-sussex-s-country-garden-1-6569639

Highlights include:● Half of beacon-triggered messages sent currently are some form of coupon,

according to Shopkick.● They expect beacons to directly influence over $4 billion worth of US retail

sales this year at top retailers (.1% of the total), and that number they believe will climb tenfold in 2016 to upwards of 40 billion.

● They expect a significant amount growth with beacons and loyalty apps: Beacons and loyalty apps could and are being used together to reward customers for all sorts of location-based actions, even just walking into a store.http://www.businessinsider.com/beacons-impact-billions-in-reail-sales-2015-2

Sponda brings the perks of online stores to brick-and-mortar shops - They have launched what amounts to physical cookies in Sweden at a shopping mall. The loyal customers of Citycenter are provided with a VIP-Key that contains a small RFID tag. It allows customers to be identified as soon as they enter the shopping centre in order to offer personalised services to them. Not only is this great for customer loyalty, but it helps store owners track their best customers movements and habits - and it does it anonymously, with privacy as a high priority.http://globenewswire.com/news-release/2015/02/25/709544/0/en/Sponda-brings-the-perks-of-online-stores-to-brick-and-mortar-shops.html

Finally, Practice CoPilot is the first to Bring iBeacons to Eye Care Practices. The program is called Maestro. The technology leverages Bluetooth beacons to monitor patient flow and staff efficiency. This is not just for long term analytics like many of the current iBeacon uses but it allows them to be more effective in real time, for both improved communication and customer satisfaction.Features like patient color coding for example show how long each patient has been waiting."This form of visual management helps doctors and staff leverage real time feedback to make adjustments that keep patients flowing smoothly throughout the day," says Chuck Smith, one of the co-ownershttp://globenewswire.com/news-release/2015/02/25/709539/10121853/en/Practice-CoPilot-First-to-Bring-iBeacons-to-Eye-Care-Practices.html
