Kew Gardens has created the Discover Kew mobile application with 50 beacons placed across 500 hectares in Ardingly, UK - allowing visitors to take part in activities and receive information. It will be in the botanical gardens and will share info on some of their rarest and prettiest plants. After a 3 month test, they will evaluate whether to place the beacons in other outdoor areas. according to Shopkick.● They expect beacons to directly influence over $4 billion worth of US retail

sales this year at top retailers (.1% of the total), and that number they believe will climb tenfold in 2016 to upwards of 40 billion.
