    1 Notes have been given before each chapter wherever necessary, which must beread thoroughly before using the B.S.R. for incorporating appropriateprovisions and specifications in estimates and tender documents.

    2 Rates are for complete finished items and inclusive of all ancillary worksnecessary for the completion of work covered under respective item as perIndian standard specifications unless otherwise specified in the description ofthe item.

    3 Rates of all items provided in this BSR are inclusive of labour welfare,camping, medical and sanitation facilities to labour, tools and plants etc.,required to complete the work as per Indian standard specifications.

    4 In case of disputes if any, regarding interpretation of the description of itemsin this Schedule of Rates, the decision of the Chief Engineer, Water ResourcesRajasthan, Jaipur shall be final and binding.

    5 OPC/PPC (Fly ash based) Cement of grade 43N/mm2 shall be used unlessotherwise specified.

    6 In case any item is not found in this BSR, Prevailing BSR of PWD Rajasthanand PHED Rajasthan are allowed.

    7 For Plantation works, Forest BSR is allowed.

    8 For installation of Solar Power Plant, guidelines of MNRE, Govt. of Indiaand RRECL will be followed and rates approved by Rajasthan RenewableEnergy Corporation Ltd Rajasthan (RRECL) will be used for estimation.

    CHAPTER - III

    The rates of this chapter shall be applicable only when leads exceed 250 metres except mentionedotherwise.

    The distance between 250 metres to 750 metres shall be considered as ½ km lead, and that above750 metres to 1500 metres shall be considered as 1km . Subsequent distance shall be rounded offby ignoring less than 500 m distance and by considering a distance of 500m and above as fullkilometre. Item No. 4 will not be applicable for items of Chapter – II

    Item Unit

    For Estimation Purpose classification of strata shall be inspected and approved by ExecutiveEngineer.

    In case of change of strata from that as contemplated in the sanctioned estimate, priorpermission/approval of the Superintending Engineer should be invariably obtained.

    In case, hard rock requiring blasting and having hardness more than 2 Mohs and quantity is morethan 500 cum, it shall be got checked and approved by the Superintending Engineer for payment.

    No extra payment will be made for de-watering on any items of this chapter. In case dewatering is notrequired for these items then no payment shall be deducted against these items.

    For Nominal mix concreting work, the coarse aggregates and fine aggregates will be measuredby the standard boxes and cement by bag. The boxes should be designed for 1/2 bag,1 bag etc.of cement.

    Use of nominal mix of concrete 1:2:4 & 1:1.5:3 is allowed only for petty works or with thepermission of Engineer incharge issued with proper justification for use of nominal mix.

    For Design mix, the producer / manufacturer / contractor shall obtain mix proportions of eachgrade of concrete from a recognized laboratory approved by zonal chief engineer and submitdetail to the Engineer-in-charge for approval.

    Concrete of any particular design mix and grade shall be produced / manufactured by weightbatched hopper mechnical mixer with assigned capacity of mixing drum as directed by Engineer-in-charge. If any change required in the approved Job Mix design ingredient, Fresh Job Mix design shall beobtain by the contractor from approved lab and shall be got approved from Engineer-in-charge

    The rates in this chapter are inclusive of de-watering wherever required. But in cases wherevercontinuous base flow / surface flow persist in the working area @ more than 30 lps then thepayment of dewatering can be allowed after verifying by superintending engineer and priorapproval of the concerned zonal ACE/ CE.

    Proportion of ingredients in concrete will be governed by mix design.
