This document contains information about the setup steps required toprepare for course CCP299.
Ordering Checklist
The following equipment is required for each workstation:
- A computer that meets the minimum requirements necessaryto run all application software:
Software Version.NET Framework 4.0Studio 5000 21.0RSLogix 5000 Compare Tool 3.4Firmware files for Studio 5000 21.0RSLinx Classic 3.51Microsoft PowerPoint or Microsoft PowerPointViewer
2002 or newer
- ControlLogix workstation (Part No. ABT-TDCLX3) orequivalent hardware
- Communication cards and cables for an EtherNet/IP network
- SAMTEC RSP-119350 USB cable (or equivalent; forcommunications between L73 controller and computer)

Required Setup
Perform the following steps for each workstation:
- Unzip the Student Exercise Files and place them on eachstudent PC.
- Copy the Node Assignments appendix for each workstation.- Restore Logix Designer application to its default settings by
performing the following actions:- If it is open, close Logix Designer application.- Press and hold the CTRL + SHIFT key combination.- Continue holding the CTRL + SHIFT key combination and
start the software.- Do not release the CTRL + SHIFT key combination until the
software has started.- Set the default directory under Tools!Options.- In the default project directory, delete all old files.- On the desktop, make a shortcut for each software.- Set up an Ethernet/IP network and assign IP addresses to the
computers and EtherNet/IP modules.- Verify the ControlLogix workstation matches the standard
hardware layout found in the Workstation Layout section ofthis document.
If you are using a non-standard workstationconfiguration, you will have to modify the I/Oconfigurations for each Student Exercise file tomatch your hardware layout.
Day Before Use
If the classroom layout does not alloweasy networking through hubs andswitches, you can have students directlyconnect the workstation and computerusing a crossover Ethernet cable.

The ControlLogix workstation (or equivalent custom setup) used inthe course requires the following equipment:
12 dual input and output pushbuttons
4 selector switches (on/off)
2 analog inputs
2 analog meters
A 10-slot chassis with the modules listed in the following table:
To match the standard workstation configurationin the exercise files, the workstation’s modulesmust be placed in the following slots:

If your workstations do not include 1756-DHRIOmodules, you should leave Slot 6 empty.
The workstation’s modules must have firmwarecompatible with Studio 5000 version 21.
