Solar Energy Resource Distribution and Potential of Emission Reduction in Planning Area • Regions with strong sunshine (Region II)—In the benchmarking scenario there is an installed capacity of 13 million Kilowatts, and 0.17 billion more kilowatts of emission reduction potential; The sunshine is 1400 to 1750 kw/h per square meter; They are mainly photovoltaic technologies, and the effective operation time is 1300 hours every year.�
Wind Resource Distribution and Potential of Emission Reduction in Planned Area • Strong overland wind energy - In the benchmarking scenario there is an installed capacity of 100 million kilowatts, and 50
million more kilowatts of emission reduction potential; �• The average wind power exceeds 300w per square meter; �• The effective operation time is 2000 hours per year;
At 10 meters above the ground the average wind speed is 5.6m/s, and at 70 meters it is 7.2m/s in Huailai. The wind speed and wind power density are consistent with the peak-valley electrofacies, which is ideal for installing large and medium size wind turbines. The average wind power density is 422w/m2, and the effective annual GEH is about 2000 hours, and the GEH is above 1800 hours.�

Biomass Energy
• The development of biomass energy, on one hand, can solve the power supply problem of the region, one the other hand ,
• It can improve the agricultural efficiency and the modernization level of the agricultural utility facilities, make the city clean and beautiful, perfect the residents’ living conditions.
• This will have positive and far-reaching influence on constructing a new socialist countryside. Since the biomass energy has no pollution and no emission, the wastes can be self-marketing in the rural area, and meanwhile the environment is effectively purified.�
• 10 high standard semi-biogas ecological agriculture demonstration villages have been built in Huailai County, and 1780 households are covered by the biogas ecological home enriching project. In Nanshanpu Village of Huailai County, 25 households have set up their biogas generating pits and invested 120 thousand yuan in establishing 6 sunlight greenhouses. The utilization of the biogas energy can bring about 1000~1500-yuan economic benefit to each household in a year.�
• The border of the planning area has such ecological resources as the Yanshan Mountains and the Guanting Reservoir, as well as abundant water and transport resources around it;
• The Badaling Great Wall, the Bashang Grassland, the Longqing Gorge, the Jiming remount station and the Hot Springs in the planning area constitute the recreational belt to the west of Beijing;
• The planning area is located at the latitudinal band of the gold grape growing areas of the world, which is one of the most well-known grape and wine regions in Northern China;
• The planning area is to be built into a national ecological demonstration zone in accordance with the industrial ecological planning, integrated water resources management planning, the integrated solid waste management planning and the integrated energy management planning;
