Father Brian Harrington, Pastor
The number of priests per Catholic has declined over the past 40 years. This makes it more difficult for individual parishioners to establish a close relationship with any one particular priest. Furthermore, priests are no longer the only ones who offer pastoral care to our people. Yet without a priest, no parish is able to be a Eucharistic community. It is important to reaffirm the importance of the priesthood of Jesus Christ
Please pray for our parish family members who are sick: Ella Mae LeBlanc, Mike Breaux, Leslie Douet, Susie M. Our Faith … Our Family …
Our Future Legacy … This past weekend was our 2nd Collection for our Debt Reduction. Thanks to those who donated to our collection which will repeat monthly on the 3rd Sunday of each month. After completion of our church renovations we incurred this debt from our new parking lot project, purchasing the Williams house for our office and purchasing the property adjacent to our cemetery. Our total parishioner donations collected this past month was $1832.00. Thanks also for all those who have been faithful to their commitment in the Centennial Campaign. This rewards our parish with a payment every quarter towards this debt also. Due to the diocese’s offer of no interest in April, we also made a $26,056 interest free payment in the month of April. Thanks to all those who are able to generously support this collection monthly. Our last report in March was $298,630. This is a tremendous drop in the effort to quickly complete this debt reduction note in our parish.
Thanks for everyone's generosity in May. May God reward your family.
